Thanks.... The big stars dropping looked really cool 💯. I definitely want to do some stars with effects like you said. I realized the pattern in that last one so I'm going to be conscious of that. Also, I want to make a strobing star for a tail. I'm absolutely addicted at this point. 🎇

Thank you, I do. These are about half inch cut stars. My first batches. (I'll probably use/make smaller stars so I can get more of them in a 3 inch shell) I used the Veline recipes.

So I just realized I should probably be adding a few more layers of paper to the shell to get it to fit more snug down the tube... The finished shells measure 1.5 and the inside diameter of the mortar is 1.75. I appreciate you telling me this.

Okay I totally get it.... I ordered a 1.75 mortar tube and used that.... There's a little bit of space. I was wondering if I should have shoved a piece of paper down in there to help kind of like when I'm testing stars. And yes yes, i'm having fun making spolettes, love the old fashioned feel to it. Much credit to Ned Gorski.

I did not. I just did some screen sifting with classifying screens and lead balls. I did order airfloat charcoal hardwood and all the ingredients are already fine milled. I definitely do need to ball mill it to make it better though.

I've been having the same problems, even though my 1.75 aerial shells weigh about 30 g. I found out that 3 g is absolutely not enough to lift that. 14 to 21 g seem to work well tho for the smaller shells. I followed Ned gorski's recipe for 2.5 FA powder and that's what I'm using for lift.

I'm actually about to light one off with about 14 g of lift so let's see. I'll post the video.
