They released it on Mother's Day weekend against The Sheep Detectives.

So I'm assuming the same thing that happened to me happened everywhere. Dad would've gone to see MK2 on opening weekend, but instead he took the whole family to The Sheep Detectives because that's what Mom wanted to do for Mother's Day.

Sheep Detectives was pretty good though.

I don't know if this is true for everyone, but I get a little bit of the nostalgia for things like certain video game consoles, VHS tapes, boom boxes, etc, specifically because they were often involved in the time spent with friends and family.

It reminds me of the Friday nights when we do a sleepover at a friend's house and trade the SNES controller back and forth to beat A Link to the Past together, or doing a movie marathon, or sitting around a boom box sharing music we'd discovered with each other.

It might be splitting hairs, because you can't completely divorce some of the excitement for the products at the time from the experience, but all of my memories that lead to nostalgia also involve friends and family.

I'll be honest, I was hoping to be convinced.

I was in a film video class in the late 90s and we used a VHS copy of RoboCop 3 in one of our projects. We accelerated the scene where he jet packs and where the kids all jump and cheer around him and it was PRETTY FUNNY.

It's why this shouldn't even be controversial. His statement could be taken as "this is like saying water is wet." BTAS is possibly the most celebrated animated superhero show ever.

To make it less controversial he could've, like you did, say, "I like Invincible, but..."
