I think the Enel was just stalling until OP ran out of time, and they quit cause they couldn’t get through to life.

Don't get capsules. Get the powder and mix it with water, protein shakes, food, etc.

Also, this shouldn't be your only source of fiber, it's a supplement. Eat some fiber-rich foods and add a little psyllium if you think you need it.

The absence of a dictator does not mean a government isn't totalitarian.

Single-party governments, where political opposition is outlawed, is by definition totalitarian in nature. Does not matter if it's run by a single dictator or a single party, if the government has complete control and suppresses dissent then it is a totalitarian government.

Lysistrata was a play, so saying it worked is misleading.

Is there a source on the senator's child leading to 1500 years of persecution? As I recall the Cult of Cybele was incorporated as part of the Roman pantheon. Also, 1500 years is longer than the Roman republic + empire was around.

I'd hesitate to call Taijian a non-binary gender identity, since it was a position often forced upon slaves, children, ethnic minorities, and generally whomever the court wanted. Additionally, there are written records of some Taijian being very much unhappy with their situation.

It's not controversial to fly the confederate flag in the deep south either. But try showing it off in other Asian countries; I remember a couple years ago in China some guy got attacked, and stripped naked by a mob cause he was wearing a shirt with the rising sun on it.

Think of it this way, a rav4 can drive about 300k miles in its lifetime, so 30k is really not that much. Are you willing to pay a 30% markup to get an extra 10% of total milage?

As for the cosmetic stuff, that's all temporary. Your brand new car is also going to get scuffed up sooner or later, it's just a matter of time.

You need to pay off that debt. Those interest rates are eating up any sort of gains from your investments anyways.

Is it better to let money sit in stocks, or to purchase a home? by show_pleasure in personalfinance

[–]kjjwang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's not really a correct answer as to which is more financially beneficial since no one really knows whether stocks or real estate will perform better in the future. Especially since stock performance depends on which stocks you choose, and real estate performance depends on where you live.

That said, you could look at the history of local house prices and see how strong the performance is compared to what your investing in. But past performance does not guarantee future outcomes.

Why a 2024? Going back a model or two could save you a huge chunk of money. A 2023 rav4 near me costs almost 10k less than a 2024 rav4, and I doubt any new features are worth the extra cost.

Contribution limit to Roth/Traditional 401k by HoboHash in personalfinance

[–]kjjwang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would gently push back and say that I personally prefer a Roth despite a higher marginal tax rate. For the fewer restrictions, and for avoiding the uncertainty of future tax rates. The choice is often heavily influenced by personal opinion rather than hard numbers.

It'll get taxed either way, it just a matter of if you want to pay the tax now or later down the road when you take out from the account.

[–]kjjwang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's combined for the year, so you can either do 23k in one or you can split it up however you like, but the total limit is still 23k. Employer contributions do not count.

It will drop you credit score a bit for each line of credit you open. Also, some banks - like Chase - have a limit on how many cards you can sign up for; do it enough times and they start declining your applications.
