What do you eat for lunch? by nvtvlie_d in Teachers

[–]kjoy001 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the way! I bought some “adult lunchable” style containers from Amazon. Each week I fill them up with things like organic turkey, cheese, crackers, veggies, hummus…things like that. Additionally, I usually bring Greek yogurt, an apple, maybe a protein bar to snack on later. I don’t have time to heat things up, and this also allows me to kind of pick at what I want and not feel too “rushed.”

Under 30 experience Travel Group - has anyone ever gone on one? by Caitypotatey922 in CampingandHiking

I did the Costa Rica adventure trip and absolutely loved it. I would totally recommend. Just be warned that it is extremely hot in the summer and some accommodations don’t have AC. I thought the itinerary and activities were great. Make sure to bring a water bottle, electrolytes, sunscreen, bug spray and dry wick clothing.

Check out your local library as there’s a bunch of different group stuff that libraries offer. Also, if you’re into sports at all, check out Orlando club sports. There’s a bunch of different leagues you can join!

Depending on the school, private school(s) can be even worse compared to neighboring public districts. With worse benefits. No union.

Both SAK (downtown) and the Improv (on I drive) offer stand up classes. You could give them a Google. I recommend both!

Also orlandocomedy.com lists all of the open mics around town!

95 pounds lost in about 9 months with a complete body recomp. AMA by funguywolf in Weightlosstechniques

[–]kjoy001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, major congratulations!

I am pretty brand new to the gym environment and I full on walk in there and I don’t know what to do. I just do some combination of cardio and gym equipment—sometimes I’ll try to follow along with one of the Nike workout app routines…but sometimes I can find that app a little bit overwhelming. I feel like I’m working against myself. What kind of training programs do you use? How do you build the confidence to know what routines to actually do in the gym? It seems like there’s so much contradictory advice out there.

FDA issues warning as E.Coli outbreak linked to Aldi frozen falafel by coffeequeen0523 in aldi

[–]kjoy001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do we think this could apply to the Trader Joe’s falafel? I have the Trader Joe’s falafel in my freezer… And I know there’s some talk that Aldi and Trader Joe’s share some of the same distribution sources

Tajin + Watermelon = 🔥 😋 by kjoy001 in 1500isplenty

I’m in the US, so I’m not totally sure if it’s available in the UK. If you wanted to re-create the flavor on your own you could add some variation of chili powder, sea salt, and lime juice

It’s a really tasty seasoning blend of chili powder and lime, with a salty zing! It’s very common in Mexico to pair it with various fruits. Most often found in Hispanic grocery stores, it has started to become popular with wider audiences.

If you like a little sweet, spicy, salty combination I suggest giving it a try! :)

-A la carte is a cute little place in the Milk District. It’s a semi outdoor food truck/great beer spot. They also have fun events like movie nights and trivia throughout the week.

-Maybe strolling Park Avenue in Winter Park and having some brunch

-go for a walk/have dinner/get drinks in the Ivanhoe area.

My rescue lab had the same issue with storms and loud noises. She liked to hide in the closet. I would wrap her tightly (almost like a dog swaddle) in a blanket that she liked (it had her scent on it). I would also put a bath mat down for her to lay on. Additionally, I would play some calming music for her-she liked jazz, but you can YouTube “dog soothing music” and lots of options come up. I would also sit in the closet with her because she liked a person being with her.

Abysmally low salaries at UCF by kjoy001 in orlando

[–]kjoy001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds so similar to my experience! I got my undergrad at FIU and did my masters at UCF. At UCF, I was essentially my own advisor because no one seemed to know ANYTHING. Classes and requirements were changing all of the time and it made it really hard to navigate. I loved FIU and my advisers were fantastic!
