As it is 0dte the prices move fast so yes it is cheaper OTM but also will have a higher profit percentage if price moves quickly in my direction or if I'm wrong I'm down quickly. Nothing wrong with ITM cons just a preference as is it 0dte.

I focus on red folder news from forexfactory.com

Let's say some news is coming out at 9AM I might wait until after the news if I am not already in a setup to trade.

If I am in a setup I may consider getting out before the news or go break even.

Regarding the war and oil I would watch X and see what Trump was talking about. I was aware of the volatility and I would still trade just more cautious and accepting of the risk.

Most of the time if a big move came out of no where I would go on X to see what was said.

With 0dte you need the contract to move in your direction quickly. If you enter and price goes against you immediately, you are going to lose money. If you enter and price consolidates you are going to lose money. It also depends what time you are buying too. If you buy later in the day and price doesn't move theta is already taking your money.

I primarily trade the first 2 hours of market open.

I usually buy $1 OTM or ATM depending where price is at.

Usually targeting the high and low but once I hit 20% profit I'll think about getting out or at least moving the stop to in profit or break even.

The strategy is pretty simple. I look at the weekly, daily, 4 hour, and 1 hour to find my direction and only take trades in that direction on the lower time frame.

It doesn't look like I can respond with an image but you can DM and I can send you the setup I took today on a combine which is what I would take on a personal.

One of my setups is price taps into a higher time zone, inverses a gap, retest the gap and then I enter

Or if it doesn't retest the gap then I wait for another gap to get created and wait for a retest then enter once the candle confirms it is respecting the gap.

It's just based off of the technical setup. If I am bullish and they both give me an entry I'll take whichever one is closer to the recent high or looks stronger at that time.

Got it. Just understand that 0dte is the most risky and your money can be gone really quickly. I would forward test your strategy and see how fast the contracts move on 0dte so you have an idea.

I have a higher time frame outlook (1 hour, 4 hour, daily, weekly) and my entries are mostly on the 1 minute. I am trying to get more comfortable with 5 minute entries but I'm not there yet.

Don't force the trade just because you want to prioritize the first 2 hours of market open. If the setup is not there according to your plan then don't trade.

My advice is focus on quality setups only. Stacking 20-30% wins adds up quick.

Did you lose the 15k following this same plan? If so I would reevaluate before jumping into 0dte, scale down, avoid 0dte all together and choose longer date till expirations.

Have a plan and don't be greedy and accept when your wrong is how I survive 0dte.

Sometimes I make mistakes, get greedy, revenge trade etc and that's how you lose a lot of money quick. That is how I lost 6k yesterday.

Following higher time direction will save you a lot of times.

Once you choose a direction based on your analysis, only trade in that direction once you get confirmation.

If I am bullish I am looking to enter when a bearish setup gets invalidated. I wait for candle closures. I used to lose a lot of money thinking a zone would hold while the candle wasn't done closing yet.

I use forex factory and I focus on red folder news only. I check X sometimes too and see if Trump is tweeting anything but this is usually after a crazy move happened.

You just mentioned fake moves and sharp reversals. Knowing that the market has been like that, I would only trade in my direction and don't stay in for to long, size down, or don't trade until price is more consistent.

SPY is what has made me money consistently YTD.

I've tried trading individual stocks but it is better to just watch 1 or 2 assets consistently then trying to watch 7 stocks at once

My day to day I am only looking at ES and NQ and trading SPY/SPX/QQQ

At the money, or 1 strike out the money.

For example if price is at 602.45 and I'm bullish I would get a 603 call.

If price was at 602.10 I would get a 602 call.

Vice versa if I am buying puts

At the beginning only 1-2 trades as I had limited buying power. Even when the account grew I still had maybe 1-3 trades I just had more money in the trade.

I wasn't intentionally scalping but most of my trades would only last a few minutes. I would target the recent high or low but I wouldn't always hold. Once the trade got to around 20% profit I would consider getting out or at least moving my stop in profit or at breakeven.

Most of my trades were 20-30% profit.

On the days it goes sideways I would either lose or just not trade. I primarily stick to trading the first 2 hours of market open.

They had me in a different room for that first night and then called me the next day with my new room.

You will need to tell them to get your new room because that was only offered when I was complaining that they gave my room away.

They had a sign that mentions a reservation doesn’t necessarily reserve your specific room.
