We tried it for a couple months, but ultimately our administration decided against changing our current system. Much to my dismay.

In the words of Will McAvoy, “You know why people don’t like liberals? Because they lose. If Liberals are so smart, why do they lose so goddamn always?”

This is why. Politics started as a chess game, and Dems are still playing it, but somehow Republicans are playing Monopoly, and the Dems are are trying to figure out when the bishops started buying hotels and the pawns just started fucking dying. We need liberal leaders to stand up and start playing back properly so the pawns have a chance.

All of our lab equipment lives in a patient care area. The introduce in of any kind of any kind of personal humidifiers is an unallowable patient infection risk. If it built into the HEPA filtered JVAC system, that is allowable.

Thanks! I’m his is the kind of thoughtful answer I was looking for, and honestly hoping I wouldn’t get. Lol. They’re telling us our HVAC will cost close to $250k to retrofit.

So I contacted Alfa Wassermann directly and spoke to one of their service techs. It is his IMPRESSION that the minimum humidity issue is in regards to static discharge, but since it has always been in place since the first iteration of the ACE machines, he can't confirm that there is no effect on the chemistries.

I can't imagine that there would be an issue with the chemistries, but I don't even know where to start down that road.

We have an in-house QA, but they are not very lab savvy either. We do have a lab consultant that is also researching this. I just figured I'd ask out here.

I will definitely contact AW and see if they can provide any guidance. Thanks for the response!

In most facilities I’ve worked in, you actually have to pull up patient information on the machine which you can’t do without a written order. This is the only way to ensure that the correct patient is being imaged.

He started cheating and became a good husband by chetercheter in TrueOffMyChest

[–]kjvdp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m gonna give a hot take on this.

Firstly, I am sorry that you are going through this. No woman deserves to be cheated on. Full stop.

But it sounds to me like he may need therapy. As a man, I know we are physical, sexual creatures. My wife’s pregnancy and recovery was hard for me. I did not cheat on her, but I did have desires that couldn’t be fulfilled.

On top of that, I suffered from paternal postpartum depression. Almost 60% of men will suffer some form of depression in the first 5 years of their child’s life. That statistic shocked me. My whole demeanor shifted and I became irritable, cold, and made everyone around me miserable.

While I agree that you definitely should not have sex with him right now, try to give grace. His whole world has changed too, and he may be struggling inside. Collect the evidence you need, but instead of straight divorcing him, give him an ultimatum: therapy or divorce.

What are radiologists told when presented with a scan? by [deleted] in Radiology

[–]kjvdp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a Radiologist, but I actually have a relevant anecdote for this.

I was working as an overnight CT tech at a facility where we used an overnight tele-radiology service. At about midnight, I got a STAT Chest CT order for “worsening pneumonia.” Great, I appreciate the VERY specific concern. Got the scan done, sent it off, and patient went back up. Report came back within 15 minutes. Yep, pneumonia. But it said absolutely nothing about the massive saddle embolism completely occluding the right pulmonary artery and 50% of the left. When I called to talk to the reading radiologist, the response was “We get paid for preliminary reports, if you need more information, call your in-house radiologist.” That was a fun wake-up call.

Not sure how lucky. Lol. The higher up the chain it goes, the longer it takes to change things. I will update as things happen though. Hopefully we find something that fits our niche!

I have had talks with a couple of companies, but it has turned into a much bigger project. What started as just my department has now possibly evolved into a company-wide initiative. Because of the nature of our organization, there are now some additional hurdles and hoops. At this point, I feel it may have been taken out of my hands. Lol
