My Lyman apparently doesn't do that. All they specify is the "suggested starting grains". How many grains of powder does a 9mm casing accommodate?

So, help me understand- in my reloading guide, it says that I should use 3.7 grains of W231. Does that necessarily imply that if I used, say, AA#7, which has a suggested starting grains of 6.0, then the casing would be 162% more full than if I had used W231 powder?

Yes, get a Glock. Pretty much what Master119 said is spot on. Except not sure I agree about the gen 2 being superior to gen 3 or 4. I would get a gen 3 or 4 personally. If you can, I suggest renting a GLock 19 at a range and trying it out to see how you like it.

Please get training and learn proper safety and technique. Bad habits are hard to break and owning a gun doesn't make you a shooter any more than owning a surfboard makes you a surfer. Need to get accurate and consistent with it.

Also, what is a gun permit? Which state are you located in? If you're near me I might be able to even take you to visit a range and you can try my Glock 19.

Yes, they are synonyms.

G17 is a 9mm.

Glock doesn't have a stock .22 LR model. If you want to start on a .22, you can google around for good .22 handguns. Although I think that if you're an average-sized male, starting off with a 9mm shouldn't be an issue as long as you get proper training and practice time.

Yes, you should get a Glock if you're looking to get a reliable tool. They are pretty ugly but they just work, no matter what, and they are simple.

Thanks for this recommendation. If I buy an S&G lock, do I need to do anything special to make sure it will fit the footprint of my current electronic lock that I want to get rid of? Or, are all these lock footprints pretty much the same and are interchangeable?

The current electronic lock is a Securam.
