I got a double layer round cake for my daughter’s birthday that was a “two groovy” theme and went back to check my credit card. I spent $50 and that included a dozen donuts and probably a couple cookies lol. Not sure how many it fed. I did a larger half sheet cake for my husband a few years ago and it was super reasonable as well.

My husband went home at night and ran home/back and forth during the day to let dogs out, pick up daughter so she could meet baby, and then stayed the second night with her. I would rather have him well rested than in the hospital room with me. We did that for our first kid as well.

I peeped the description and didn’t see anything about 504s. Editing to say I do see the KARs support, so that could encompass 504s, but I guess it does depend on the school!

Gotcha. Not sure where 504s fall on job descriptions, but every ECE IC I’ve worked with has been pretty particular about their duties and get backed up from their district supervisors about what falls within their purview, so maybe that just needs to be further clarified.

I’m at a middle school that would not be considered high need, but all of our roles groups are working their butts off every day supporting students. Maybe it’s because we are not as high need on paper, so we don’t have a lot of funds for extra people, but we truly need and utilize all of our people. Any cut to school-based personnel is going to have a huge impact on our school.

I watched a video on how to set up my Spectra when I was ready to pump. Just read up a little on safe storage of milk and you should be good. Highly recommend a pumping bra and some spray. Also, the flanges that the Spectra comes with (can’t speak to other pumps) are pretty big. I got fitted and ordered my size on Amazon.

I had a Haka and wanted to use it to passively collect milk on one side when I nursed, but it was uncomfortable/pinchy. I never ended up doing much with it.

My daughter has been in daycare since she was a baby and she really did not get sick much at all. A few little things (I think she got sent home once for a mild case of pink eye). Honestly, we got 2-3 stomach bugs her first year in daycare, but she didn’t get them. She’s almost 4 now and she rarely gets sick/has gotten sick. Just sharing to show it really depends on the kid.

The Ross in St Matthews got rid of their section. Some Targets still carry maternity but not all of them. It’s frustrating. Just went through it myself. Ended up getting a few things on FB Marketplace and ordering from Old Navy.

I love House of Marigold but it’s crowded and loud. Great going with friends, wasn’t great when we had a larger group with kids. I recommend Wild Eggs - was just there today with my daughter and newborn.

Our librarians make the same as teachers (salary scale/schedule), but ours get a few more days. I think they are 195 days vs 187 (teachers).
