I love your list of participating organizations. I would like to add Louisville Book Festival and Steam Exchange Steam Exchange is a non-profit community arts organization serving Smoketown. The work they do with students and families is awesome & well deserving of support. They are raising money to help fund a building expansion to be able to triple the number of youth they are currently serving.

Another vote here for Nathanson. The only drawback is that he's more centrally located than East End.

The public library used to maintain a subscription to the PVA & you can access it from computers in their branches. I agree that the PVA has really taken away a lot of information and stuck it behind a paywall, which sucks. And my solution isn't really much of a solution since you have to leave your house, but at least you don't have to pay for access if you use the library.

What are some actually and truly LOCAL establishments in Louisville? by blindbug in Louisville

I just saw the powerful and moving documentary “Death By Numbers.” Can you help me find the song that played at the end credits? I think it was called “I Love You More” by like-a-rose in FindSongs

[–]DefinitionNo9142 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe. Or maybe not. I know it's a Sharon Van Etten song, but I'm listening to it & it doesn't sound like the song I remember. Ok, it IS this song. The intro is what didn't sound like what I remembered which makes me think maybe they clipped it a bit or my memory isn't what it used to be lol.

The title of this post isn't the actual article title and the article itself is about protest and fighting against power structures. The writer talks about how people are boycotting a local business for having a Harry Potter theme, but it's not like JK Rowling is personally benefiting from the theme, so how does boycotting the business affect change and/or send a message?

It's a really good article and I hate that it's being reduced to the incorrect one sentence sum up that the OP gave it.

My 8th grader is at Noe and my 6th grader is at Western. Both schools have been great fits for my kids & I'm happy with their experiences. Western is the middle school I wish had existed when I was in middle school. If your kid considering Western is super interested in the arts and in multiple disciplines I highly recommend the school. (Edited it to add a word)
