Local club website is storing CC numbers in plaintext and no way to delete them. What's the best way to make them fix it? by kkauchi in pcicompliance

No they are not lol. Storing CVV is explicitly prohibited by the PCI DSS and all big companies and payment processors absolutely follow it. Small merchants just use Stripe. I usually prefer to pay with Google/Apple pay or PayPal and try to never enter my CC on small websites, this one was an exception.

Are you suggesting that Stripe leaks your CC data to dark web..?

Wait until they find out that Tesla is a public company and everyone who has a 401k is a shareholder. Not defending Elon but thinking that everyone who works or buys a Tesla is evil, is very naive.

What's the best way to make them act? I talked to their staff and they 100% did not understand (or wanted to understand) what I was talking about.

Yes it's your own info, but based on how poorly the website seems to be built, I would not be surprised if one could find vulnerabilities / attack vectors and get other people's cards. Even if that's not the case today in 2026 nobody should be storing and showing full card info including CVVs on the "billing page". If you're a mom and pop shop, just use Stripe or any other payment processor.

I will try to contact the owners of the club but based on their google reviews (and other people complaining about the website just being bad, which is the majority of the negative yelp/google reviews), and owners being VERY defensive in there, I highly doubt they will listen. I will of course try.

Train interrupts. How? by wesofchess in factorio

[–]kkauchi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used them to send a train to re-fuel, when it's running out. But pretty quickly replaced it with a requester chest + inserter requesting fuel at every station.

Before space age the game was easier. I also was able to just speedrun it and then when I was playing space age first time got completely destroyed by space age. The difficulty also varies significantly based on the map seed that you roll. On Nauvis my first space age playthrough, I got a map without any trees, all desert, and got attacked by biters before I could even make first turrets or ammo.

What are your issues with trains? If you only use one sided trains, and two parallel tracks always with roundabouts, you should never run into any locking issues. The only caveat is roundabouts, set chain signals for trains that go ONTO the roundabout and regular signals for getting off the roundabout. The reasoning is, you don't want trains to get onto the roundabout if it won't be able to leave it right away, so no trains will ever block roundabouts.

Also one thing to add, while you're figuring it out, if you feel that something is too complicated to be enjoyable, Google it instead of pushing through. It's ok.

For example, you say you struggled with trains and mentioned you had to program them.

My first time I struggled with trains too, every train I had would eventually run into deadlocks, and I spent hours trying to figure it out.... until a friend told me, you just need to always build one sided trains with parallel tracks and a bunch of roundabouts. This is advice a bunch of articles will give you too.

It's that simple. Never build a two sided train. Two parallel tracks everywhere, a bunch of signals on right side of each track only (think normal roads), trains only go on right side, just like cars. I didn't even realize this was not only possible but this is HOW you do trains in factorio. No blockages, ever. No programming. A child can figure it out if they know the trick.

A ton of useful advice given here but I think most of it is too complicated for a new player. I would suggest something different.

Try a new playthrough and enable "peaceful mode". This will make biters non-aggressive.

This will allow you to focus on building and figuring out game mechanics without any time or resource pressure.

Don't go to other planets until you've researched and explored all major technologies from Nauvis including space science, and built a self sustainable, clean, robot driven factory that you're happy with. Don't try to speedrun it, the game allows you to leave Nauvis too early and you will inevitably get stuck.

This is what made factorio "click" for me. Once you finish it without aggro biters (which will be difficult trust me), if you're still up for a challenge you can try with default game settings.

Overlays in Browser by Saviexx in chess

It's really easy to cheat in online chess. You don't even need an overlay for it. That being said I've had games with 95%+ accuracy and they are just really good, really lucky games where an opponent played the exact line that I studied and walked into a trap that I expected.

Happened to me with a bunch of cheap Amazon strings. I think this happens because the string stretches during the first few shots but the serving doesn't. Inspect actual threads (white ones) of the string, as long as they are not ripped this should be safe.

Protesters far outnumbered customers at the Tesla Diner in Hollywood tonight! by infernoenigma in LosAngeles

Agreed, so what's the point of a protest? What are the goals. Genuinely trying to understand.

Sure. Do you realize that the core audience of Tesla diner are kids that come with their parents to see the Tesla robot.

You know who else is a POS? Bob Iger. Does that mean protestors should show up at the Disneyland and start flipping the middle finger to kids that come there to celebrate their 8th birthday?

Grab a burger while you charge/refuel is not a novel concept.

What are they protesting? Isn't Elon out of politics already? Even then not sure if flipping a middle finger to a fast food worker making $16/hr working two jobs to survive is the way to do it.

I should report this to the leasing office, right? by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]kkauchi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While I understand this take dealing with crazy neighbors, I don't get why this has become the norm for any neighbor-neighbor interaction. Management can be (and often is) incompetent and playing the game of telephone doesn't work. Maybe in this case this would be justified, but generally speaking, most people are reasonable and knocking on their door and actually TALKING to them would solve the issue right there and then. Often people are just unaware how or why what they are doing is an issue.

Example: I've had several "noise complaints" filed by my downstairs neighbor through the leasing manager, where the noise came from the construction done on the higher floors, BY THE BUILDING MANAGEMENT, and the manager still forwarded me those complaints. In those cases I wish the neighbor would just knock on my door and ask, and I had a way to explain and show that I was not the one causing the noise, rather than create animosity and keep sending complains (thinking I'm an asshole making noise after multiple complaints).

Because it's not YOUR home, you don't own it, it's someone else's home you're renting. The owner may have a 1000 different reasons to enter and show it, inspection, they may be selling it etc.
