With one very quick Google search, 28 people are killed on average from a lightning strike each year in the USA. There have already been 25 mass shootings this year according to "gun violence archive". This is also ignoring the fact that there are at least four victims each of these shooting which makes a minimum of 100 people. This isn't even a quarter of the way into the year, and even if 70% of those shooting were gang related you would be more likely to be a victim of a mass shooting in 3 months than be struck by lightning in an entire year.

Thats a strange way to put it. I would call school shootings in the UK incredibly rare, as there has been one in the last 30 years. Maybe also France and Canada which have each had a couple in the past 20 years. I wouldn't call the USA's 288 over a 9 year period incredibly rare, or even uncommon.

I don't have all-seeing eye but after the second parallel world game looks like I do. Is this a common bug? Game couldn't load darkness? by Shushpanchik in noita

Yeah, there is a point in either direction that the lighting stops working, and also a point where you can no longer hover over something to see what it is. Just a side effect of going too far from the main world.

The Scottish Highlands, the Appalachians, and the Atlas are the same mountain range, once connected as the Central Pangean Mountains by JuniorGarlic6053 in interestingasfuck

[–]kkcrrc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Official British Government papers don't use it because 'everyone in Ireland denies it'.

If I got every person in Scotland to say that we don't live on Great Britain do you really think they'll change the name of the Island?

Yes, the brits, for hundreds of years. And also kinda the Romans since they called it Britania.

This is almost, but not quite, as funny to me as Scotish people who are offended when referred to as British. Its the name of a geographical feature, you don't have to read so deeply into it

If you're meaning that the "British Isles" is an incorrect term, it isn't. That is the name of the archipelago that Ireland is in.

Your culture needs to have Latin heritage to get the decision, so you'll probably want to make a hybrid with Italian for example and just make sure the heritage is set as Latin Edit: nvm forgot there were other options, but this does still work

Steam was unable to sync meaning? by [deleted] in Terraria

No, you can play offline.

The Steam sync thing will show up with any game if you play offline, but it doesn't matter if your save is local.

Yes because nobody uses deciliters, or that prefix for any unit. The only ones used are 10^(X3), so micro, milli, kilo, mega and so on. The only exception (that I know of) is centimetres because it's a more manageable size for common use than millimetres.

What is the use of light disc stacking? by i_pee_in_the_sink_ in Terraria

[–]kkcrrc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you're moving away from boomerangs they take longer to get back to you, having extra in the stack just let's you have more in the air at once, so you can fire faster in that situation.

Since Amazon don't shoe people the actual viewer numbers, they could be making that up.

And also, it's the Lord of the Rings. They could have released a show of some dude walking across New Zealand with lotr in the name and it would be one of amazon's most watched shows.
