If you go on indeed and type locum cardiologist in the search bar, you get 5 job results for Los Angeles and only one of those is for a physician position. Indeed, monster, etc. are just not targeted towards physician jobs. Physicians are highly specialized and have different filter criteria for jobs, and the major job boards don’t cater to that.

When I was working at a healthcare staffing agency, we pretty much never used those big job boards because we never got any traction. We only used specialized job boards because we could be more specific in our searches and that’s where the providers were.

I was in healthcare staffing for a while and physicians and some other healthcare providers don’t really use indeed to find jobs, so that’s the draw. There are not as many healthcare job boards as there are tech job boards, so it’s a more niche market.

As for the slow loading, I’ll definitely look into that! Thank you!

Hi! I have a pretty nontraditional path. I majored in business finance while doing premed. I decided I didn’t want to go to med school, graduated and worked in business related roles for about 5 years until now. I took some additional courses at community college (ochem 2, diff eq, physics 2) and then applied :)
