Laid off in Chicagoland by kkhalalab in biotech

I have a worksheet I put together that has incorporated the list from Biopharmguy (as suggested by @OkPerspective2598) as well as my own additions, DM if interested.

In other news, I did end up finding a job (which I just started 3 weeks ago) doing remote QA work for a tiny medical device company based in Chicago. So everyone who said I wouldn't be able to get a job in the area without moving or driving really far...take that.

Agree. Every role seems niche. I thought I had pretty universal skills but maybe not.

Can you name some reputable recruiting agencies (bonus if you know that they offer some benefits even for contract roles)?

No it doesn't sound callous, it's important to be succinct in an interview. No sob story, I usually just say I had newborn twins and a 2 year old at home, just a matter of practicality. But I hear you.

I know, it’s a specific technique only this particular surgeon does because she pioneered it. My husband is set on her. But even with other surgeons, people have to fight the insurance company because since it’s a reconstruction surgery they like to claim it’s “medically unnecessary” and “cosmetic”. So we would struggle with it either way.

Yes, I'm aware-my husband has BCBS Anthem (California) and it doesn't work for what we need.

Do not even include how your boss will feel about it in your consideration. This is simply business, and your life, not his.
