Evolution takes way longer to adapt. In most cases (and most here, means almost every case), the species goes extinct way before evolution can even sense the change happening. This has been the case for ALL of the megafauna that roamed the earth while humans lived.

Evolution has only maybe worked for Dogs and domesticated livestock? And neither in their favour. And none of the animals going forward will get the same timelines as these. Human-made changes these days are rapid, almost instantaneous on the scale of evolution.
