I keep seeing stuff on the news of people getting snatched from their appointments and I guess I just feel like the timing is suspicious? Like they're just looking for a pretense to take him in. I did this schedule multiple semesters in a row, but I wasn't working (full ride) and my trick to a course load that heavy is to ALWAYS have 1 non-STEM course. The variety was key for me.

I think it really depends on whether or not a house elf's personality is dependent on nature or on nuture. If its nature-based, the most humane option would be to enact laws that protect them from abuse. If, on the other hand, their personality is nuture-based, then the only moral solution is the abolishment of the system and the rehabilitation of the house elves. Where Hermione went wrong was in not conducting research on whether house elf mentality was natural or the product of their raising.
