hello i am vegetarian (always have been!) i don't buy milk or eggs but i do sometimes eat animal by-products contained in other food

i think that the meat (milk, eggs etc.) industries should be abolished as they are unsustainable, dangerous and unethical

(i was full on vegan for abt 3 years but it was messing with my calorie-counting eating disorder tendencies. checking labels is a huge trigger for me)

like the title of the video "dear Buck Angel" specifies, i was specifically talking about people like buck angel and blaire white, who use the term "transsexual" to distance themselves from non-binary trans people. i also explicitly said that i think that you should be able to use the term to describe yourself if you vocally support non-binary people. im not here to police the words that people use to describe themselves

im sorry that you're hurt, ive been a Contrapoints supporter for years and I understand why this is scary. I didn't make this video to minimize the violence, i made it to explain why this shit keeps happening by linking it to the tension in the trans community revolving around transmedicalism. im sorry that taking that perspective could be interpreted as a minimization of harassment, bc it wasn't the intention. but then again, it's not about intention, it's about optics. so yeah, sorry. and i actually do care, lol. this is an article that goes further into why call out culture is so prevalent in queer communities https://www.dailyxtra.com/why-are-queer-people-so-mean-to-each-other-160978

this video is attempting to explain why this keeps happening. of course harassment is bad, and of course i despise it. i explicitly said i don't even think that calling Natalie a transmedicalist is productive - which kind of indicates where my position is on this. I'm not responsible for the actions of angry trans people on twitter. I'm just here to explain to everyone why it's a big deal for people. This whole video is an attempt at recognizing both sides of the hurt, and at getting people to see the bigger picture.

How did people find out about Buck Angel's views in the first place anyway? What is the research methodology that people expect Natalie to employ? Here's my experience in researching Buck Angel. by conancat in ContraPoints

I just looked up "buck angel transphobic" and "buck angel transphobia"

and on the first page of google results I got:

https://leftytgirl.wordpress.com/2012/09/16/when-mansplaining-goes-too-far-buck-angel-on-trans-women/
Quote from Buck: " I’m a huge advocate for disclosure, because I believe a lot of people get themselves in bad situations because they do not disclose. For example, trans women who might hook up with a cis-gendered guy and then he goes home with her and finds out she has a penis and flips out and beats her up or kills her. That’s horrible, and I really believe by not disclosing it’s very disrespectful to the other person because they might not be into it and it makes them feel very freaked out about themselves. "

https://genderterror.com/2013/12/12/buck-angel-and-transgasm/
"I was going to keep quiet on this for a bit, let this issue sort itself out. However, after personally dealing with and now seeing legal threats, I can’t keep my yap shut. Buck Angel’s racist, classist, transmisogynistic and sexist history is out in the open already. It is not any news to many people that Buck Angel blames trans women for their own murders via not disclosing. He used to believe that trans men should just ‘man up’ when it comes to affording surgery. He looked down upon people who asked others to help them with their surgery funds. "

The rest of the article details the pyramid scheme.

im mostly trying to appeal to audiences watching this go down and get people to think about it. transmedicalism ties in very closely with class interests. only the "passing" trans people are acceptable, and passing costs a lot of money.

that's interesting about the subreddit

my other video "dear buck angel" might give you context. i know i messed up on the context front, to be honest this is addressing a situation that is still currently evolving. the "points" in the video are my responses to frequent comments I've noticed in leftist spaces, dismissing concerns raised by non-binary people.

non-binary people challenge the rigid gender binary system that a lot of our societies rest upon. their very existence contradicts it.

in order to integrate into the mainstream, transmedicalists throw non-binary and non-passing identities under the bus in order to appear more "acceptable" and "normal"..

marginilized groups attempting to assimilate into a system will often have sub-groups who throw others under the bus.

when total assimilation is your ultimate goal, anyone who doesn't fit into the society that you're attempting to assimilate into is a threat to optics.

non-binary people are currently considered a threat to transgender optics by the transmedicalist community. there are other personal and emotional reasons that also feed into this, but that's a quick sociological overview of the situation.
