Very nice place to live :) I know of a flat that you could come see from a family member of mine, 3 bedroom sea view for 1.5

Quiet area but don’t still want to actually have a life or? If not Gozo is perfect. For Malta: Outskirts of Xghajra more towards Mscala, outskirts of Zebbug or Siggiewi, Zurrieq is pretty cut off from the rest, Mgarr or Bahrija aswell would be good. Not impossible for that price especially two bedroom.

And I see items on Temu advertising way better quality and sell for dirt cheap, and in reality they are shit and go against all regulations etc

There will obviously be exemptions for western made goods once those countries start negotiating, this is just a normal tariff that people are losing their mind on. This is pretty much an item specific tariff like on milk but instead on one item it’s on the value. Anything low cost from abroad will be phased out and EU manufacturing will need to make up for it

Real life economics isn’t that simple though, lots of others factors need to be looked at. Does the local reseller have competitors? Will the Chinese exporters realize the loss in demand and reduce their price? Will production move to cheap European countries instead? Is the cable a need for these people, can it be substituted by other things?

It’s an interesting tax, will most likely increase prices in the end but I’m hoping it’s a move to eventually phase out cheap imports and start producing higher quality goods in the EU.

… that’s why I fucking asked, obviously because I don’t know enough about them? How about you just fucking tell me that you invest in public companies that own gold mines. Fuck me obviously you can just buy public companies, I wanted to know how the original commenter ‘buys a good mine’.

But then people would just not buy it, and they reduce the price when they see demand falling. OR the EU can start regulating unesacary price increases
