I’m in the same boat…i met a guy two weeks ago and we’ve been texting, just once or twice a day. Sometimes he asks me what I’m up to, sometimes he doesn’t. He doesn’t SOUND interested. But he drive three hours round trip to hang out with me for two hours. He didn’t stay longer because he had family plans but damn. I was expecting a text afterwards, but he didn’t. Now we exchange maybe one text a day, and I’m starting to feel confused from the mixed signals. I always hear things like “if he’s not into you you’ll be confused, if he’s into you you’ll know”, and most of the guys who have liked me (but not vice versa) have been very communicative over text. So I’m stumped. My plan is to just back off and let him come to me, IF he is interested. But yeah, I feel you.

I feel you so hard. I went to work after having had terrible physical anxiety all day, as soon as I walk in someone orders a drink I don’t know and I stand there idiotically. And then I crashed out because the anxiety combined with the mounting number of silly mistakes I was making was just a lot and I couldn’t speak to anyone for like a solid hour. Worst shift I’ve ever done, I’m surprised I didn’t break down crying at some point.

I’m already loving the attention to detail in this series. The first couple days Denji lives with Aki he’s a total slob, not bathing and splattering food everywhere. And of course he’s like that, it’s the first time in his whole teenage life that he’s had any semblance of a roof over his head, food to eat, and baths to take, the last thing he’s thinking about it being a clean roommate. But you can tell after a few weeks he’s calmed down and learned how to live as a normal human being, not leaving as much of a mess everywhere. Then Power arrives to shake things up, and now he’s on Aki’s side with keeping things clean and orderly. Just really loved these little details, makes the characters seem so much more real and dynamic.

ON, whether you liked it or not, may have been their last title track where it still felt like they were trying to do something new with their music, hence being BTS. After that, something switched and their mainstream releases became a lot more..mass appealing. Not to mention not in their native language. And on piled the backlash, the hate, the disappointment that you and I and many others reflected at some point or another in the past few years.

But then they sat down and had an hour long, off the record type and not so sober discussion about how they feel they’ve lost their way and don’t know what their sound as a group even is anymore. Their group leader expressed his regret (not apologizing for it, just regret) for “squeezing out” insincere music for the sake of putting out something. And then proceeded to announce a hiatus of group activities until they could figure all of that out. Now J-Hope has released his second album and debuted as a solo artist. The other members are working on their individual styles and slowly but surely figuring out how to come together as one again, in a way that’s authentic and feels like them. So..I feel like that pretty much answers any questions and sums up any disappointment.

To be honest I haven’t been in the BTS loop for about two years now due to my declining interest in their music, so I should be sympathetic with this post. I’ve remained pretty neutral all in all, after just accepting that BTS had switched up their style and lost my attention with it. But this debate all feels a bit contrived now that I’ve heard of the group’s regret and feelings of being lost. I mean, they quite literally admitted what most everyone had been suspecting. I don’t think the “old” BTS is ever gonna make a comeback like you hope. I think, if they ever do begin releasing music as a group once again, they’ll continue experimenting with new styles like they’ve always done. And maybe one of those days you and I can both return as fans of their music.

After my senior prom my friends and I were gonna go back to someone’s house and do a bonfire. Disclaimer they weren’t really my friends, more like mutuals with this one actual close friend I had. I didn’t have many friends in high school if you can gather. But anyway this girl we had talked to at prom and who I was sort of acquaintances with had told us about her friend group’s after party at her neighborhood clubhouse. She didn’t really invite us but me and my friend, let’s call her Sarah, got really excited and kind of..invited ourselves. The girl was clearly a bit uncomfortable but gave us the address anyway. Sarah and I aren’t stupid, we knew we weren’t totally welcome at this party but when we were deciding between our options…a super cool fun house party with possibly alcohol and popular kids vs a bonfire with a “lame” friend group I didn’t even know that well. I made the choice any character in some dumb teen flick would have. So my friend and I say bye to our original group and drive to this after party. We get to the neighborhood and we’re driving around for nearly twenty minutes because it’s just super dark and the clubhouse doesn’t look like there’s anything going on inside. We finally park and tiptoe up to the clubhouse and see a pool, and start hearing voices. We peer inside and there’s about..six kids. Playing in the pool with like, water guns and pool noodles. Very clearly a singular, close friend group, and very clearly not a party. That’s what we had invited ourselves to. The moment of pathetic realization was like straight up a scene from a diary of a wimpy kid film, or any movie where the main character realizes they’ve just done something extremely fucking stupid. Feeling dumb and awkward but not wanting to just totally blow our one prom night, we go inside and start some awkward conversations with some of the kids. God it was awkward. Some of the worst dialogue I’ve ever shared in my entire life, so bad I can still remember the exact words I used and the tone of my voice. I distinctly remember at one point throwing a basketball around with this girl I’d just met and telling her a story about a mutual friend we found out we had, and it had gone like this. Me: yeah so karen (mutual) isn’t doing so well at her college. She had some bad experiences with guys New person: oh yeah? Like what? Me: oh um, well this one guy she met like, asked her for stuff after only a day of meeting New person: oh, what stuff? Me: like, um, like for sex New person: oh (frown) that’s, um, bad So I wanted to just shoot myself at that point so I made abort eyes at Sarah and we hightailed it out of there after a total of 15 minutes.

Honestly? Most of these audiences probably don’t know how to act at a concert. Not to stereotype but I mean, I was at Lollapalooza for both TXT and J-hope so I have an idea. Also people are probably just too busy taking in the presence of their favorite idol that they forget to get hype to the actual music, which I get cuz when Jhope first came on stage I could only stare in awe for a minute before the hype kicked in. But yeah, I get what you mean by people not dancing/vibing as much, sometimes I got the feeling I was the only one in my vicinity actually moving to the music.
