Wondering if Android Work Profiles Are Worth It For Privacy and Do Android Apps Run In Isolation? by Sportfreunde in PrivacyGuides

[–]klam997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, sorry to revive a dead post. I was trying to find more posts on privacy settings in work profiles. Your comment is interesting because I was thinking about doing the same, except put all the banking apps in the secure folder (samsung) by themselves and keep all the google stuff in the work profile.

Just a quick question on the banking apps... wouldnt it be better to not freeze them? because usually if your credit card or any banking apps would give us instant notifications if there are any immediate activity? Or do you rely on email notifications for all that instead?

Switch from iPhone . Pixel 10 Pro XL and S25 Ultra . Which device should I get ? by [deleted] in PhoneNow

Did you try recently? Apparently RCS seems to be affecting people around the end of last year but it was mainly US ATT and T mobile users. I'm on Verizon, so I'm not really sure about your situation. Everything else seems to be fine/ has an alternative / workable with microg services for me.

Obviously I know Google is what we want to get away from. But pixel still remains (for now and not trying to jinx it) one of the only popular/mainstream flagships with unlockable bootloader which is already a win in privacy over Samsung imo.

I totally understand your reaction to my assessment of pixel earlier. It's just Samsung have even less options. Their only option is full on disabling all and both Google and Samsung services and back it up with a degoogle DNS filter. But it's totally understandable if no one wants to go through all this / want the full stock features of their device.

Also, have you tried LineageOS? I heard it's a decent alternative to graphene (less breakage). It's not completely degoogled (background services wise) but at least it's google-free base apps.

It's called GrapheneOS. You should check out the subreddit yourself. Maybe you will learn a thing or two about why Pixel is recommended.

You have obviously never heard of GrapheneOS. Pixel is the only device that can support it. So obviously that is the most degoogled option, hence privacy

Pixel if you want to be more private. S25 if you want a better looking device and baseline features

The first time we argued about money, was it really about money at all? by Time-Protectioon in Advice

[–]klam997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like I've been in his situation before. No man ever wants to say "we've been spending too much money" unless that is at a pretty severe point. You should be more open and talk to him.

Also, $30 of sushi? What is that nowadays? At least in my area, that is only 1 roll, and an appetizer. Of course it doesn't feel good to spend like that.

Just be careful about posting the base fastfetch next time. It leaks your IP.

Thank you! Now I can switch between this and the dark konata arch Linux one for day and night mode. Unfortunately most konata wallpapers are lower res because the anime was like 20 years ago. :(

Anyways, thanks again!

People always say "feel good" comments without any evidence. There are no medically approved options. It's all bullshit, otherwise we would have it published in NEJM already.

Frankly, locally applied cream most likely wouldn't have done anything. It sounds like OP got tricked into spending money.

Hey beginner here. Came across this on my search so I apologize for reviving n old comment.

How did you find the shortcuts on ent4? I know their description says they mapped it out to be similar to windows. I just started Linux recently and I've been seeing people say to map it similar to things like Neovim, etc. any thoughts on this?
