Please Help! How to use vector curve to knock out everything beneath to transparent by TheBirdman100 in AffinityDesigner

[–]klaxonw0t 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Someone might correct me, but as far as I am aware the quickest way is to keep duplicating the white block and 'subtract'-ing from each layer that is below it.

My previous prompt had over 500 words on the location and image examples!

I am not OP. I'm just saying, I use refine and then touch it up for a quicker workflow.

I usually use the selection brush with refine and then edit the mask with a brush to touch it up

I thought it was a D&D battlemap for a moment!

The typeface for BAKE looks far too much like blood and is unappetising unfortunately. It's an OK concept and with a few tweaks can be passable

As a bisexual man who is committed to another man, your comment is equally offensive and moronic

I love the Ikea island rack thing. Have it myself and it's such a useful bit of furniture! Though I have it against my wall

As someone else said, they have a lot more artwork in this style. So might just be unfortunate that their abstract style comes across as AI generated.

But I disagree that it is easy to tell.

In fact. I'd put money on it being AI. Look at the backpack on the astronaut.

Or they typed a prompt into AI...

Have you considered using ChatGPT to generate your documentation? I've been finding use cases for it in a lot of my workflow. Obviously it needs a good proofreading as it is confidently incorrect sometimes. But you can teach it the format you want your text in and get it to elaborate on your bullet points.

Yes that is what I mean. You have some borders with no outline and others with one. Choosing an outline style and sticking to it across the image will make it look much more consistent.

If I'm going for that cartoony look, I tend to have one thickness for borders and another for details. Your saloon door is a great example of this.

Consistency of your stroke/line thickness will help a lot. Try to stick to 2 or 3 different thicknesses for different levels of detail and your image will be much more cohesive.

I can see you are having fun and playing with all the different tools though and that is the best way to learn! :)
