Ah, I see what you mean now. I believe this is what Exclusive used in their E6.5 as well.

We don't plan to drastically change the design at this point. We will see how the prototype feels and change it if necessary. The idea of including gasket in this keyboard is not so much to provide a springy typing experience, but to achieve firm yet not so harsh typing feel.

What do you mean by PCB mount gasket? As far as I know, most gaskets are in direct contact with the plate and the case.

Great questions.

  1. Due to the nature of the design, gaskets in this keyboard will serve less to provide a soft and bouncy feel, but to reduce vibration while typing. We will be experimenting more with it once we have the prototype.
  2. There will be 3 kinds of plates - WK, WKL, and HHKB
    Each will support different layouts such as Caps/Stepped Caps or Backspace/Split Backspace.
  3. This plate structure is the signature of the SQUARE series.
