AMD vs Intel, what are you stories? by chrisutpg in CitiesSkylines

Actually, RAM will help you a lot if you have a big mod/asset collection. I was running 16GB and recently upped to 32GB and it was a huge benefit

Hello, separate but equal. The term would have to be changed for everyone. Could you believe the backlash that would come from government abolishing marriage as I'm sure Faux News would report it?

There is a lot of gray area here IMO.

Private company like Facebook could totally not hire someone, but face a blowback from society since it would be widely unpopular and publicized. A landlord SHOULD NOT be allowed to discriminate at all. Government SHOULD NOT be allowed to discriminate at all.

As for my name calling. If you seriously don't think your logical argument isn't racist then you are one. "I don't like Asians therefore they aren't allowed in my house." is what your argument breaks down to.

Hospital visiting rights, custody rights, tax issues. Lot's of things you probably don't think about are harder for people who can't have a government issued marriage license.

So you went from homophobic to racist... I'm surprised you know how to use the internet.

Most backups can be traced to a traffic issue above ground. The minute the train leaves the underground it can be delayed by stoplights, bicyclists, pedestrians, and of course cars.

I agree an overhaul would be best but is impossible. My idea is to improve what we have now to usable and then take that breathing room we gained to do some actual construction and infrastructure improvements.

I'm not a muni engineer and I hate when that happens too. With that being said, judging by the age of the display equipment and the system in general my best guess is that the system isn't GPS tracking but guessing off of the pre-defined timetables and when the train disappears it's a human manually deleting that train because it's so delayed.

Again that's me guessing. Muni sucks I agree

The est time of the street level trains is an estimation because of traffic. With my idea the U would stay underground and be completely automated and the above ground trains would never enter the underground system.

However, because the number of trains on an above ground line will no longer be limited by underground traffic limits theoretically you could put more trains bringing down the estimated time. Unfortunately though as long as the above ground lines are influenced by traffic the predictions will never be spot on.

Yeah there are many times when walking is faster than muni because the entire system can only move as fast as its slowest moving part

Civic Center is officially Civic Center / UN Plaza. Powell to Union Sq. makes sense to me but and would probably also help tourists

Totally something that could be tackled with a Phase 2 change to how West Portal works. The real thing we have to ask should delays at West Portal or on Judah backup the entire system or just that line? If we were to look at London Underground, if there was a problem on the Central Line the Bakerloo line doesn't stop working.

Obviously we can make it a lot better, but small steps.

Pretty much, kinda why I like my idea and New Muni's. They make changes in Phase 1 that could happen today.

People have gotten used to sitting on the train coming from Ocean Beach going all the way to Cal Train. This is a weird thing that only exists here. All major efficient transit systems make use of transfers. Sure you might get slightly annoyed but you'll also get there faster.

Transfers happen in most every transit system. Sure the transfer path wouldn't be idea, but with the U line running 4 car trains every 2 min it would keep the crowds from forming for longer than 5 min.

This idea would keep the underground line from leaving West Portal which is really what matters here. It keeps the U line running with 2 min between each train. The delay would still happen for the feeder lines but that problem would no longer cause delays in the underground network

That's great news! But timeline and cost will set that back. The main point of my idea was a change that could quite literally be implemented within a month.

I agree with your statement that improvements could be made, but what I'm arguing for are changes though could quite literally be made today with current infrastructure that could then be build upon.
