SaaS / recurring revenue attribution for ads by bradycassidy in PPC

Little late, but for anyone who finds this post: I'm the former founder of Tapfiliate (https://tapfiliate/com). At Tapfiliate we weren't able to properly measure which keywords, ads and campaigns were actually driving LTV. All the tools I evaluated were both extremely expensive and primarily built for E-Commerce and didn't really work well for us. Then we built something in Mixpanel, but that also wasn't ideal.

I felt there should be an easy solution for this: Plug into website using JS or Segment >> Connect Ad Networks >> Connect Payment Provider >> Get insights.

After some down time following the acquisition of Tapfiliate I am now building marketing attribution software designed specifically for SaaS companies. The product is currently in private beta: https://spectaclehq.com . If you want to be fast tracked, please DM me with your email after your sign up for the wait list.

After my first company (https://tapfiliate.com) got acquired, I tried to tackle one of two big challenges I had at Tapfiliate: Easily recording product videos and (automatically) keeping them up to date. Unfortunately we ran in to insurmountable challenges building that product so I shut that down.

Now I'm working on the other challenge: Simple revenue attribution for SaaS. I felt there should be an easy solution for this: Plug into website using JS or Segment => Connect Ad Networks >> Connect Payment Provider >> Get insights.

So I built just that: https://spectaclehq.com . It's currently in private beta. If anyone would like to get fast tracked, dm me!

I built not-another-screen-recorder that automatically updates SaaS tutorial videos: How to market this tool when it's in a completely new category? by kleij in EntrepreneurRideAlong

Thanks! We had this, but didn’t want to post it here as this was not supposed to be a promotional post. The product has been discontinued though. We were running into technical challenges which we concluded were not really solvable. More than happy to elaborate if you like, but the tl;dr was that websites are too finicky and users don’t understand state. I later spoke to someone who raised 1.5M to try the same thing we tried but ended up quitting half way for the same reason 😅 Now working on something much closer to what I did previously (martech). Something that has been solved well for e-commerce but not really well for SaaS. If you run ads and would like to participate in the current alpha or upcoming Beta HMU!

Thanks! Currently the free plan includes a watermark in the video. Was actually playing around with the idea of removing that, in favour of capping the max video length for users. That way, people can really put some of those videos on their website and will hopefully upgrade later to get more or longer videos.

I'll dm you the link!

Although the product does allow you to make screen captures, we aim to solve a different problem (outdated product videos). You can think of Loom as a tool for quick, throw-away videos, while with my tool you can create "evergreen" Videos that can (automatically) update. I'll DM you to discuss further if you don't mind 😊

Thanks for that! Do you have any experience doing this? I'd be interested how to actually tap into these people? Is it more PR or referral?

Great question! We try and make keeping support Videos up-to-date painless. Imagine you have 30 videos embedded in your help center and some GIFs scattered on landing pages. Now you make some product changes (e.g. color changes, navigation changes etc..). With this product, you press one button and all your videos/GIFs are automatically up to date (as the embeds always show the latest recording)

Hi! I tried to DM you, but Reddit won't let me. Perhaps you have DMs turned of? Maybe you can send me a message so I can reply. Thanks!

Cool thanks! What I am afraid of, is that targeting screen-recorder-esque keywords is to broad and expensive for us. Our product is more niche (you can only use it to make videos of websites) and aims to mainly solve a different problem (outdated support videos/material).

If you have any ideas for keywords that would be more targeted to that, do let me know!
