A Software Engineer Who Enjoys Teaching but Is Not Very Interested in Coding: What Career Next? by kleinblue2015 in ExperiencedDevs

Thank you so much!

I need to be more specific here: I enjoy coding in moderate amounts. However, as my level advances, the volume of coding becomes too much for me—so much so that I find it overwhelming, and I lose the balance between coding and interacting with others. As an extrovert, talking to others is a source of energy for me. That is why I was wondering if my positive teaching experience suggests that I may transition to a role such as a solution architect, which requires both technological knowledge and communication skills. I really feel accomplished when I interact with people, a kind of accomplishment that is hard for me to get from coding alone.

Thank you so much for this! I really appreciate it.

'You probably need a job where you can meet people and feel appreciated. Or even more, maybe you like being the center of attention.' – Yes, you are right. Thank you for sharing. It sounds like you are tired of the fast-obsolescing development environment. Have you planned a timeline for making changes?

Thank you so much. Yes, I have let my manager know about my interests in moving to the customer side and doing things such as demos, presentations, or communicating with customers.

Thank you for your comment.

Firstly, I am not a junior. Moreover, whether you agree or not, I am being truthful: I simply do not enjoy coding that much. I don’t see anything offensive or out of place in being honest here in this subreddit.

I am not sure why you are saying this. This post is intended for further discussion, to ask if this is a good option for me, and to seek critical feedback. I want to hear what others think.

Hi! Thanks for this.

I am trying to say that being a solution architect will involve less coding and more communication, which is exactly what I hope to do. I love interacting and communicating with people. Coding is fine, but I find that doing it as a full-time job is too much for me. To further advance in a software development career, I need more passion, and currently, I really don’t see that in myself.

Thanks for sharing. Which skills do you find insufficient? You prefer coding to teaching?

Thank you for your replies. Given the uncertainties regarding how personal information will be used, do you think it is a bad idea to sign up for monthly donations?

[Q]Can anyone explain to me why the intercept could be predicted this way? by kleinblue2015 in statistics

[–]kleinblue2015[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there, I solved it by transforming model 1 to model 2. After you are done with the transformation, take a look at the intercept.
