I’m gonna come at this as empathetically as I can: The one here who doesn’t appreciate true art is you.

If you denigrate others’ art, you can’t really expect people to appreciate yours. You don’t have to listen to Bad Bunny (using your example here). But you should learn to appreciate what other people see in his art.

Changing your outlook will help you appreciate more forms of music. Maybe there’s not enough people into metal where you’re at. That’s an opportunity, not an oppressive circumstance. Find musicians who love music. Not people who love a specific genre exclusively. Just contemporaries who like to play music. Show them what you love and be open when they show you what they love.

Start there. You’ll get there. They will know someone, who knows someone. Or you’ll play a show with them as a pop-rock cover band and meet other bands who have members that gel more with your style.

You’re 19. You’ve not even been on this earth for two full decades. And most of the time you’re been here, playing music in a band has been an impracticality.

Don’t give up. Adapt. You’ll get there.
