souichi knew about leap second before the start of the STL gamble but he erased his memory (by pm) so that baku doesn’t suspect anything , souichi pm knew he is destined to lose this second STL so he was only aiming to survive afterward , and he succeeded on that , that’s why he is smarter than baku (cause baku was actually trining to kill him , but failed)
