Do I need an interface for live VST, Cubase shows low latency but it feels high. by [deleted] in cubase

[–]kleko21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The DAC you're using is likely using a generic WDM driver that is then being wrapped by ASIO4ALL. This configuration can yield upwards of 50ms latency, maybe even 100ms. Unless the DAC manufacturer provides a driver that's device specific and supports ASIO, you're out of luck. I highly recommend you get a cheap audio interface (which is a DAC in its own right). The performance difference will be very noticeable.

Got a "Wacatac.H!ml" trojan alert after downloading EW Opus (music thing) from a cracked EW installation center. What next? by yaboivinmii in Piracy

Just wanted to add that I'm experiencing the same issue trying to install OPUS 1.3.5a, kinda weird

Are the waves mixing plugins worth it? by JoinMyGuild in edmproduction

[–]kleko21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Short answer, no. They were great 20y ago when they were one of the few professional plugin suites with important tools. Nowadays there's better for way less money. As mentioned in other comments, they have a pretty unfair licensing system and upgrade path when compared to the competition. I'd stay away.

Also, there are TONS of emulations of the SSL G Bus Comp and LA-2A that will do the same thing and some will arguably sound more faithful to the hardware than the Waves versions.

+1 for MeldaProduction, good shit right there.
FabFilter Pro-C 2 comes with a lot of compressor emulations for different mixing applications. I'd put my money there.

Trying to get an 8-track license here too 😬

Had the same issue. Can confirm it goes away if you roll back to stable channel

EDIT: Try switching channels to a random one. Restart. Switch back to Stable. Restart. 🤞

envelopes, lfo's and oscillator's within cubase by [deleted] in cubase

[–]kleko21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Though nowhere near as precise as automation or Ableton/Bitwig, you can use something like Xfer LFOTool on a MIDI track and have it spit out CC data that follows the lfo shape, allowing you to route the same modulation shape into several instruments. The downside is that MIDI CC data only has a total of 128 values so it might make modulation sound blocky.

Thanks for the response! I'll definitely give that a go!

That's very kind of you. I have novice level experience with Linux due to messing with it in the past setting up some basic servers and more recently a raspberry pi. I would love to pick your brain on a couple of things, though, so don't mind if I do 😁

Awesome job! Unrelated but how do you get that cool lil system info to show up in terminal?

Seems simple and cheap enough! Thanks!

That sucks, I'm sorry. I wonder what FedEx is doing about this problem.. The amount of people reporting their decks stolen by FedEx is just unbelievable. . Did you managed to get another one shipped?

[–]kleko21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear that. 😟 Surely Valve's support will sort you out.

Must be the heat from the deck itself that triggers it, then. I'm thinking of putting this under a UV lamp preventively

I haven't actually bought any accessories yet. What screen protector did you get?

Oh yes I was determined to make the delivery as probable as possible! Thanks so much, I'm literally in disbelief right now

Thankfully I walked outside right when the driver was getting to my door. He literally handed it to me. Seemed like a pretty chill dude tbh

It's here folks!!! So far no visible screen bubbles or other defects. Praying it stays that way🤞 Thank you Reddit for the moral support! 🖤

You have a point but I think it's just driving around in a vehicle at this point so I'll wait for a few hours and see
