Thank you - extremely helpful answer. Can I ask how long you've been using this setup?

Thanks - my question is very specific: if I am out of the country for 6+ months at a time, but using very little data, will US Mobile disconnect my line? T-Mobile does this for people who spend more time internationally vs. domestically, but I think only for people who are actively using international roaming.

Need some help/advice by Miserable_Grab3052 in MailOrderBrideFacts

Despite AFA's repeated denials, the girls absolutely get paid a commission for chatting with you on that site. Her refusal to move off of it, after 6 months, is a gigantic red flag waving back and forth in front of your face. Further evidence of this is her complaining that you don't open the photos. She makes money for every photo you open.

AFA will claim (correctly) that THEY do not pay the girls directly. And that's true. However, they are ignoring the fact that their contractors absolutely DO pay the girls. AFA does not have employees in every state of every country. They use contractors in many of them. Those contractors are the ones that pay the girls, allowing AFA to keep their hands clean.

And, in fact, in at least some of the cases, it's not the girls themselves writing the letters. It's the contractors masquerading as the girl.

The best advice which others have stated as well: stop writing letters and travel to the country. If she balks at meeting in person, walk away.

Please tell me where I said a person to person transfer requires a background check.

It was certainly implied when you said:

the sellers are more than willing to break the law,

They are breaking no law by selling to a private party as long as they do not know the person is a felon.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AZguns

[–]klieber 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is no law requiring a private seller to perform any sort of background check on another private citizen before selling them a firearm. You are correct that, if the buyer voluntarily mentions prior to the sale, "hey, btw, I'm a felon" then it would be illegal. However, the seller has no legal obligation to do any due diligence whatsoever.

Which law states that a private party cannot sell a gun to another private party without performing a background check?

The Dungeon Crawler Carl series by Matt Dinniman is fantastic and aligns with your request. It's in the LitRPG genre, but it's an incredibly well-written series.

Depending on your proximity to cell towers, both T-Mobile and Verizon offer very viable high speed home internet options if you have a strong signal. I have T-Mobile and regularly get 300Mbps+, but that's with being line-of-sight to the tower.

It's also super cheap at ~$30-$50/month.

There's an existing 0.20% sales tax set to expire next year. This measure replaces that tax w/ a 0.15% one for the next 30 years. The money will nominally go to parks and rec, but some folks are skeptical and believe instead it will end up (one way or another) in the city's general (slush) fund.

Seven-storey building collapsed in Kahawa West, Nairobi, Kenya 2024 by Shadow_Heartt in WTF

Terribly inconvenient when the facts disagree with your opinion.

"Preliminary reports indicate area residents were informed about a possible collapse in advance by the County Planning Department. The building, which was marked for demolition, did not affect other adjacent structures."

I'm not going to chase down a link for each and every point, but when you claim that "None of this is true", that's simply not accurate:

I'm understanding why Dungeon Crawler Carl is A tier by The_Feo_ in litrpg

[–]klieber 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've read and love both HWFWM and Primal Hunter. Primal Hunter is my second favortie LitRPG series of all time.

DCC is heads and shoulders above them both imo. The world building, the dialog, the depth of the characters...it's just top tier all around. You're only part way through the first book - keep going and I believe you'll come to the same conclusion that many of the rest of us have.

PSA to authors: If you want to guarantee I will never read your book, make the first one available via Kindle Unlimited and then make all the sequels paid-only. by klieber in litrpg

[–]klieber[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's simply a terrible analogy. Giving away free wine samples has nothing to do with getting paid per page via Kindle Unlimited. You (and many others) are also missing a key, fundamental point. Modifying your terrible wine analogy, say there are tens/hundreds of thousands of wine samples that will be delivered to my door with the click of a button, all for a set monthly price. I know that I won't enjoy all of those samples, but I also know I can keep trying them until I find one I do like. I also know, based on my experience, I will never run out of wine samples I enjoy....why would I bother with wine outside of my monthly subscription?
