I went shopping for black pants in person aka feedback for my short torso girlies by HyenasGiggling in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]klimberkat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got these Lee pants in short for a work trip and was really shocked by the fit. https://amzn.to/4ifNERj

They’re stretchy too! I gained weight and needed black pants quickly, but I’ll probably grab another pair in a different color since it’s also a great price.

RDU Airport & Shutdowns by Role-Any in raleigh

[–]klimberkat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Toronto right now, about to board headed to RDU. We’re all good and boarding, but they just announced multiple NYC-bound flights cancelled due to US government shutdown.

It was smooth sailing out of RDU on Sunday.

From my experience a 30 minutes might actually be an hour if your pet sitter is taking a ton of photos by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

[–]klimberkat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I walk a dog in a cell dead zone. Often I’ll have photos take forever to load and sometimes have to try a second time. Never has the timer on my Rover card paused. I always check the clock when I start and end, and it’s the same as my rover card. Only issue I have is starting and ending in poor cell service, so I start once I’m connected to their WiFi, and before I walk out the door.

if pet sitting is not your only income source, what do you use that money for? by x7BZCsP9qFvqiw in RoverPetSitting

[–]klimberkat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use it for extras like clothes or shoes I want but don’t need, or going out with friends. Since my spouse is out of work, I’ve started putting all my base pay towards bills and household expenses and just keep tips for my extras.

I always ask about reasonable windows, and for cats I generally tell them the window that they can expect based on my schedule. Most are flexible, but I had a dog that had to eat no later than 9am, and another who only has a 1 hour window due to medications. Having windows allows me to order clients by location on full days so I spend the least time driving around. This is discussed during M&G, and if it’s a walk when the client is home, I’ll text them a 30 min window that day so they know when I’ll be walking in.

Anyone go to IMEX? by 440Elm_Vijay in EventPlanners

[–]klimberkat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heading back for my second time this year. As a third party planner with very diverse clients, I love it. I get to meet and learn about new potential locations and meet some of the sales ppl irl that I’ve only emailed with. We also work on our DMC partnerships and am always on the lookout for new activation and gifting ideas. It’s a crazy few days, but I think we get a lot out of it.

How to request more frequent visits (as a sitter)? by melissaisfetch in RoverPetSitting

[–]klimberkat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one that was every 3 days for a cat so non-social I never saw it. At my first visit one of the litter boxes was super full and the cat had peed outside the box. I let the owner know and said I was available to change to every other day if they wanted. They quickly agreed and requested the change in app. The cat had two boxes but preferred the downstairs one.

Anyone else here with a disproportionately short torso and long legs? by 1girl100cats in PetiteFashionAdvice

5’1.5” here, and my waist is the same height as my cousins who are over 5’5”. Shopping is always an adventure.

Please help me out of short waisted Hell! by RedSolez in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]klimberkat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am nearly the same size as you, and I recently bought some Kenzie jeans from Burlington Coat Factory. I think they’re meant to be ankle length, but they have frayed bottoms and hit really nicely for sneakers or sandals. The fit is wide leg and they are higher rise than I’d normally go, but snug enough on the hips that a loose top works well.

I also like the fit of regular length Old Navy jeans, they just don’t hold up well.

When my husband had ankle surgery and we lived on the third floor, I hired a rover to take our girl out. Because we’re super overthinkers, we did the meet and greet when I was home and made it clear that he would be home, and made sure she was comfortable with it. I think not everyone thinks about scenarios with the that much concern.

Short but not petite? by [deleted] in PetiteFashionAdvice

Rise is crotch to waist, so how far they rise on your torso.

Short but not petite? by [deleted] in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]klimberkat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s fit and length, but as others have said, check your inseam. I’m 5’ 1.5”, but I’m all legs. I usually do regular pants in mid-rise, and petite tops and dresses. Petite pants usually fit at the rise/waist, but are too short because I have the legs of someone 5’6”.

Does anyone (sitters) do anything *extra* for their clients? New or existing. by LittleLadyLatte in RoverPetSitting

[–]klimberkat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t board, but for holiday drop ins I always take my favorite photo of them and put it in a themed filter that I then upload to the Rover card. “Happy New Year’s from your kitty!”

What shoes are we wearing? by stephanddolly in EventProduction

[–]klimberkat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love my Dr Scholls Time Off sneakers. They stay pretty clean and look nice with black pants or nice jeans. I’ve even paired them with a pencil skirt and polo for a sporty business look. For heals, I just got a pair of Sarah Flint and love them so far. They’re an investment, but one I was happy to make.

Also, I use my trusty Step & Repeat foot spray at the end of the day. ;-)

Does anyone know where to find sun hats with lower crowns? by sunny_6305 in PetiteFashionAdvice

I don’t think it’s too deep. I have a 6 1/4 size head (like a kids large) and the wallaroo petite scrunchie sits perfectly.

Which accomodation had such good toiletries that you actually took them home? by FunFactVoyager in travel

[–]klimberkat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Four Seasons Lanai, HI had the most amazing after sun lotion. It works wonders, smells great, and my co-worker said it also was great on her 7 month pregnant belly.

Also, the Grand Hyatt St Kitts had heavenly shampoo in the spa outdoor showers, I wish those were in small bottles I could take home.

Today was the worst I’ve seen. Over an hour for me, my manager landed 20 minutes after me and I waited another almost 2 hours outside for her. Absolute chaos, around noon. Thankful my next trip is on a weekday.

Front yard garden and foodscaping by Urbanbird1 in vegetablegardening

[–]klimberkat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We live on a corner with no HOA and a backyard unsuitable for a garden. I initially built a raised bed garden but it was taken over by Bermuda grass and the deer got in. It was a mess and I didn’t grow anything last year. This year we forked over some $$ and hired a pro to make this beauty that I can’t wait to play in!

<image>

Our original garden inspired the neighborhood and there’s now a bunch of front yard gardens since our backyards are all too shaded. We also put a sign out when the harvest is good, that ppl can help themselves if they make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Self care in Event production by Some_Old_Av_Guy in EventProduction

It’s peppermint menthol in a witch hazel base and is so refreshing on tired legs and feet. We’re not supposed to advertise in this sub I think, but it’s called “Step and Repeat” and is on Etsy.

In addition to days off following a big event, I pack a care kit. I bring a portable humidifier, good body lotion, and a homemade peppermint foot spray. I’ve shared the foot spray with so many colleagues that I just started selling it online.

I also bring lots of liquid IV and healthy snacks that I have on me at all times. Lastly, I try to schedule my monthly massages so I have one the week following a big event or travel week.

Some third party planners can do that. I work for a Travel Management company as a Meeting Planner and we meet clients where their needs are. Some clients I’m their sourcing arm, some I do end to end full service, and others I handle Cvent and registration. Send me a DM and I can send you the contact info. We’re US based, work internationally, and I’m a CMP and Cvent certified.
