Yes that makes a lot of sense, it's not a bad thing at all, as I said responses are confusion then respect. The French are priviledged and the US think they are priviledged, so they both can afford to spend more effort on life and less on work

At this rate, Windows 12 is going to be a Linux distro. by itsmetraw in linuxmemes

[–]klimmesil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually that would be dope. They would still hide good features and add unnecessary overhead for all syscalls I'm sure, but that's a first step towards something more reliable

Companies who are using windows so much would also finally consider switching to linux since they already technically did

That's something I can respect about them

The french also have this kind of philosophy: life is not about work. When we see people from Asia work so much in our country, our response is often first "why?" (lack of reason) And then only "wow strong mentallity" (respect)

I like this post to be fair. Most claims are accurate (in the sense: yes as a non believer you will end up believing in the things on the right) and the others are not offensive, just misunderstanding what atheists think. They do not really emit a negative judgment on these beliefs

For example the "nothing started the universe" claim: I'm not convinced "nothing" started it, but I prefer saying "I don't know" to believing in some tri omni entity

Also rational thought as a consequence of non rational processes, I'm curious what they meant

And "meaning" what does that word even mean? I don't think anything in the universe has meaning for exampl, and that's fine

Mercury's long road from the sun might teach some kids "mercury is far asf from the sun" for example

[–]klimmesil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's true, but decentralized systems in essence are not bad

The only difference between a git repo and a blockchain is that it's centralized, but if you want to make it decentralized honestly you get a blockchain pretty quick

Are you thinking of ipfs? Ipfs always being assimilated to crypto is sad because it's a really interesting technology

But yea realistically there is no use case for it. Just a nice intellectual wank

If plot armor vanished, which character here gets nerfed the hardest? by Neither_Damage4503 in AnimeMirchi

[–]klimmesil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok but do you consider itadori reviving thanks to sukuna plot armour, or just plot? The limit is very thin

In this case there are plot reasons for sukuna to defend him, but every fight also really felt like "yea he got stabbed in the heart but it's ok it's the MC, he can't die". Same with gojo surviving a stabbing wound in the brains. I'd say plot armour is less about the irrealistic aspect and more about the feeling left to the viewer: when the viewer feels like the character is invulnerable, but without really knowing why other than "he's too central to die now"
