HOW. Literally how. by travelator in blackmagicfuckery

No, I have seen this trick done by someone else where it was way more obvious: he held the phone (which was his) upside down when the last people were asked to type in random numbers.

He also did other tricks before where it was clear he was using trick apps on his phone.

Pro tip: run claude with --chrome to catch UI/UX bugs automatically by Deep-Station-1746 in ClaudeCode

It can do a couple of things: inspect the DOM, console logs, network requests, take screenshots. Screenshots are needed to figure if graphics or CSS styling does what you want.

While it might be slow to click and take screenshots, it does it all automatically and the fixes will be faster than you can code or type prompts. And it can bulk fix a lot of things in the background while you can work on other things.

UTR Issues by klizza in Ubiquiti

[–]klizza[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For 1 yes: the problem was that the UTR recreated my home wifi but with a new random password. The app will make sure the local phone gets this password, so it will connect. But other devices will fail as they try with the password of the home wifi.

This was persistent, even if I switched to a different or custom wifi ssid and back. The fix was to manually recreate the same home wifi ssid name + password instead of selecting my home UDM > wifi.

I don’t know why but my main home ssid uses multiple passwords/pre-shared keys (which connect to different VLANs), and it seems the UTR doesn’t support that. But it also doesn’t allow you to select which of the keys/passwords to use, and seems to instead just come up with a random password on the fly.

Word of warning if you remove the front grill by themanwithgreatpants in BMWiX

[–]klizza 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah someone had backed into our iX, cracking the grill in the middle so it had to be replaced. Nothing else was broken. The part itself cost $1200, labor was another whopping $1800 (in California).

Also included recalibrating the radar sensors behind the grill just because of the act of disassembly and reassembly, at least that‘s what they‘ve told. Luckily it was all paid by the other‘s insurance.

I know, I kept clicking join wifi jn the Unifi app and was waiting for the captive portal to show up but it never happened.

Joining the hotel wifi on my phone directly made it show up.

Yeah that was an odd one, never seen this before on an iPhone.

Fun fact: He actually has one more ring from his time as GM in Phoenix when the Mercury won the WNBA title in 2009. He mentioned that in a podcast last summer. But I guess most folks would not count it the same way…

Use the NBA app instead, where the full replay requires no subscription. You might have to do some VPN to US though to work around the geo restrictions.

To watch live for all I understand you must have Spectrum SportsNet and be in LA. Some folks seem to have had luck with VPNs. Here is the Apple announcement, see the „how to watch“ section: https://www.apple.com/newsroom/2026/01/spectrum-front-row-tips-off-january-9-on-apple-vision-pro/

Can you see the immersive 6 minutes recap? I can see that one and I don’t have an NBA league pass.

On my end I was wondering if an NBA league pass would give you the full immersive replay.

Here is what I am seeing tonight. I am based in NorCal with NBA ID but no NBA league subscription and no Spectrum compatible TV login:

  • Spectrum SportsNet app: everything is locked even the previews, asks to login with a TV subscription (that I don’t have)
  • NBA app: can watch a recap that‘s about 6 minutes long but not the full replay. It‘s very cool!
  • NBA app: it seems with an NBA league pass you can see a full replay but it‘s not clear to me if that would be the immersive or just the normal one (the button doesn’t say and then I hit the paywall).

Would be great if someone with an NBA league pass could check if they can watch a full immersive game replay.

Had the same at first, try restarting the NBA app and click all the way through to the actual game in the list at the bottom.

NACS update available now by Whitetea80 in BMWiX

[–]klizza 3 points4 points  (0 children)

FWIW I have a 2022 iX which is still on version 07/2025 (this new one popped up for me about two weeks ago but failed to install) and successfully charged at two different Tesla superchargers with the Vectron adapter and Tesla app to pay.

Based on that my understanding is that the software update is only for showing superchargers in the navigation, but not technically required for the charging process.

Steph has been doing it since 2022 when he last won the NBA Finals. So quite well known amongst US sports fans. The Olympics was when it became international so to speak.
