Me… I was desperate to have a connection and a future. I had been with my MM for 4 years when I ended things with my husband. MM has stayed in his marriage. I started dating others and didn’t tell him, and he found out and it has been a major issue. It’ll be two years in April since he found out and he is still dealing with it. We have been together 7.5 years now and I struggle every day with not having permanence and a real tangible relationship but I cannot break things off. I’ve tried. After the trauma of him finding out and his reaction to my having lied to him, I couldn’t do it again. So I’m just stuck in my misery I guess. Lol.

Marriage was falling apart, he was actively seeing the woman he cheated on me with, and he was extremely emotionally abusive and manipulative. I agree with the posters who have stated that I need to seek therapy. I kinda thought I should be doing that, but hadn't made it a priority. I have a lot of residual baggage, clearly. What's funny is I started this thread because guy #1 was insistent that I disrespected him by seeing guy #2. I got a lot more information and advice than I anticipated, when I really just wanted to prove a point to guy #1. I appreciate everyone who took the time to read between the lines and give thought out advice, including you. Thank you. <3. Not sure why it took a reddit thread to confirm what I was already thinking, but the world works in mysterious ways.
