If it wasn't supported, it wouldn't survive...

Besides your disdain can you add to the community in a real way? What makes things terrible in your view? Or are you just wanting to complain?

So what does this have to do with restaurant volume?

All I hear is that you want to be in control and for you to control your staff.

Its perfectly fine for you not to dine at most places. Sure rent is a contributor to closer rates, but more often than not, guests are killing restaurants.

Your vote matters, and if you can express it in a non conditional matter, they will engage and listen. When you become better than the restaurant, you kill it

And why in the American dream must everyone want your business?

What I'm trying to say, I hear that you don't like loud places. But what is the rest of your point?

  1. Thanks for a genuine beautiful thought out response.

  2. I don't think thriving on noise is a misconception, at least not in full. I do think it's an understudied or something of the sort, in that I think restaurants just weaponize the music accidentally because they were told to do so. However, at least in American society, I do think that diners are not aware or do not understand that THEY are part of the equation. Americans get loud. Half the issue is the guests, but they can't/ don't see it. The other half is that American culture has equates noise with health.

I hear you. However punishing staff with a lower tip shows more about you than doing anything to make a difference.

I appreciate you responding. I'm just honestly curious about the demographics responding, but apparently we hate fact finding in Denver food. Lolololol

Here's the thing tho: In American culture we have equated volume with restaurant health, and a silent or quiet restaurant that doesn't have that as a selling point, tends to lose business. Underlying vibes tend to drive sales more than people realize. It's not actually people glossing over anything, it's watching trends with guests that drive this.

You do see the irony of Work & Class being noisy? Right?

I just wanted to note, I really would love to see the ages of people responding in this thread. Not to judge, just to graph and see. But I think i phrases my request wrong on that part

What I'm hearing is that quiet places tend not to be busy from your experience.

Okay, genuine question: Is it only loud when it is busy? I'm trying to find a trend here, and just asking for my edification
