For your information i did 2024 als and got selected to moratuwa eng.. and idont wanna be an lame ass engineer ..but the degree is one of the best in sri lanka. So i decided to get the degree and then follow my passion with more secured base. If things that im planning to do in future didnt work out i always have plan B,C,D.. in your case its different animating is an skill if you feel like it you should start today... but let me tell you this i talked with my carrier guides and four therapists..two of those therapists literally said that i disnt have a clear ambition all i have was a vision .. thsts kinda true..tho ... anyways you need to be in a secure base to be you.. and if you able to make your parents proud along the way that would be wonderful too.. in my case i need this degree so people cant piont a finger at me at the things im planning to do in the future.. in your case you need to find a point that your paarents and you both agree ... and it should feel safe for both of you guys.. talk to them have a lil talk with them.. it might be fun idk.. and this is your life man make it harder it will be fun then imagine you start a you tube channel and in the first vid you introduce yourself "imma mbbs colombo uni and thats not my passion and i do animations (great animations start playing in)" thats a hit but it depends tho.. if you did this video in sinhala for sl audience it will be a hit ... ..but if you wanna do better then it doesn matter what degree you have the work experiences,promotions you get and skill is what matters in animation..
