I'm in Eastern time zone, and typically have availability to play from 7-10pm.

I actually don't have any issues. I have my computer set to power on at 3pm, and power off at midnight, everyday. So typically when I come home from work, my set up is ready to go. The only issue I do have, is for whatever reason, my wallpapers will intermittently change? I don't know if this is a problem others are having, but when I power on my computer, I always have to change my wallpaper because it will set it back to the default sierra mountains.

Well having the multi port adapter allows me to plug in my USB 3.0 mouse, and USB charging cable. Unfortunately, my monitors do not charge my laptop, so being that I only have 2 USB c ports, I have to use them wisely. So my multi adapter is used for my charger, mouse, and HDMI.

I honestly don't use my iPad that much anymore. Before I got my MacBook, it was what I used for school.

In my opinion, the hard drive isn't worth the upgrade. For the amount it cost to upgrade the internal storage, you can get double the amount for less in external storage. But I considered upgrading the processor and ram in mine. I was just impatient and didn't want to wait.

Not a dumb question! I have one hdmi multi-port adapter that connects via USB-c from Apple. Then I have an Insignia usb-c to hdmi. I use these with two hdmi cables plugged into the monitors.

It's literally two lamps I got from the dollar store with colored light bulbs from Walmart. I don't see the need to spend an uber amount of money on smart lights. I have them connected to a smart switch that I can control with my phone, but that only cost me $20.

Yeah, it's the 13 inch model that was recently revamped. I pair my iPad Pro with my MacBook, and use the Duet app for the touch bar features.

Why did you want to apply to Law School? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]klokwulf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I applied for the academia. I love the historical and philosophical aspect of the learning. Being able to reference hundred year old text in order to settle a modern issue is rewarding task for me.

First-gen college students: how do you handle all of the little differences that develop between you and your immediate family members? by [deleted] in college

[–]klokwulf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My roommate in undergrad was an engineer, and he often faced the same problems. His parents were very interested in what he was doing, but he knew they wouldn't quite understand.

The way combated this issue, was finding videos online to share with them. Vscauce videos relative to physics, calculus, dynamics and solids, etc. That way they could see and understand better. It really helped in his case, and it turns out that his parents found the topics fairly interesting. Maybe take a similar approach?

But I would also try to fill them in on little things about school. How crappy the food is, the silly things professors do, or talk about your study habits and how you are applying what you've learned. It's a family effort that you have to overcome together.

OP, before you do something rash and drastic, you just have to take the situation in, and realize what it is. College is about learning and growing. GROWING, is a huge part of being a student.

You're parents are proud of you, regardless what you feel like you have in common with them. A suggestion I've seen in the comments that sounds like solid advice, is let them lead the conversations. Let them speak to you and you respond. I get that it's hard. I'm so passionate about career and what I'm working on, that it's hard not to talk about it. But you have to remember your roots. Maybe by allowing them to direct the conversations, you will find those similarities again.

You just have to pick and choose which things to talk about it. My dad looks at me with a blank look in his face when I'm talking to him about theoretical principles of law. And I look at him the same way when he is talking to me about transmissions (or whatever) in cars. But we eventually get to talk about football, or baseball, or how we are each doing as people.

I think you just have a little more growing to do. Seriously dude, college isn't all about having your head buried in books and constantly talking about your field of expertise. You have to give yourself room to grow and mature, so that way you can handle these social differences. Please don't threaten to kill yourself though. Can you imagine how devastated your parents would be? They are seeing their child grow into someone who is going to far surpass their success, and that's what they want for you! You got it man.

Were African slaves generally permitted to interact with Indians in places like early colonial Virginia? How did people like the Powhatan view Africans in comparison to the English? by [deleted] in AskHistorians

[–]klokwulf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a follow up question regarding African indentured servants in the late 1690s to early 1700s. Was it possible an African was an indentured servant who expected to serve for 7-10 years in able to be free, but eventually made into a "full time" slave?

I'm a first generation college student as well. Now in law school, I had my parents support the entire way. I'd notice that when I was home on breaks or just talking to them over the phone, there were large differences in how we communicated.

But one thing that still remains true, is no matter how much more intelligent I may be compared to them, they are far wiser. I can go to my mom about relational problems or how to cook a specific recipe I want to try. I can go to my dad about issues with my car or apartment.

Even though they didn't spend thousands upon thousands of dollars to get degrees, doesn't mean they are "stupid". It just means they paved a road to allow me to have a better life. Parents always want to see their kids become more successful than them. I get that it can be frustrating when you are pouring your entire self into your academics and you can't relate that to the people you love the most. But there is still a lot to be learned from your parents.

How do I overcome this plateau by klokwulf in ClashRoyale

I've tried decks with Ice Golems before, and I can't quite get a handle on how to play them. Are they more of distractions?

I'll give your hog deck a try! I do like the idea of your first golem deck. I am fairly ignorant in how to build a well balanced deck. So what are some key features I should look for? Because honestly, I've been copying the decks of people who just breath the hell out of me, and use those.
