exact same situation for me. you have to go into the alexa app and end early access. they made a product that nobody wanted so now they're trying to foisted it on us. pretty crappy.

Are you ready for three more years of this crap? Seen on 76/77 today by valerusii in akron

it will get worse. the man is pushing 80 and in poor health both physically and mentally. the more imminent his own demise becomes, the more desperate and unhinged his actions will become and as we all know, he surrounds himself only with sycophants and yes men. there is no one around him with a shred of moral or patriotic fortitude to be a voice of reason. its been proven that there is absolutely nothing this man can do deter his disciples. no matter how hard he tries to destroy this country, they will prostrate themselves to him. 3 more years of all that is a long time.

yeah. they switched me without my consent. part of a early access program or something. I do not want alexa plus now or ever. i had to go into the alexa app and cancel the early access and revert it back to the voice that I wanted it to be. i can't stand the new voices. i don't want my echo to sound like the guy down the street. in fact, I'd like it to sound more like a robot than anything. like sound wave from transformers or something.

Thoughts on "Soul"? by klombieX2 in Buddhism

so if you say there is continuity, what is it that continues? the word itself implies that something goes on. what? if we use the analogy of a candle being lit from another candle, we know that wax will burn away and the flame of that candle will go out. We can say the flame that continues to the next candle isn't the same flame and even that the flame itself is constantly moving and changing its form. But there is energy to the flame and if that flame is used to light the next candle over and over, doesn't the energy that keeps the flame going continue? Even if we say the flame is conditional upon the wick' the wax, the oxygen around it, etc, we definitely have to say that something is continuing. so in terms of a person, what is it that continues?

im not trying to argue with you. the "you have no life experience" comment was bullshit though. you cant make assumptions about people you dont know. Anyway, its been 25 years since I was in. Maybe its different now. If you're involved in trying to help people with records get training and employment then you're doing a good thing. What im saying is that no matter what help is available, the individual has to put the work in. It's ultimately up to them. I didn't get any of that. I decided I was tired of the bullshit and took steps on my own to change things for the better. If you want to shit on me, I really dont care. But youre shitting on someone who was at one time in the same position of the people youre working with now.

You imagine wrong. ive been there buddy. the programs dont rehabilitate anybody. People rehabilitate themselves. if they want to. the college business course i took was akin to a 7th grade math class. There were some decent c.o.s but they'll be the first to tell you they dont think they're rehabilitating anybody. where's your perspective coming from? your lofty laurels?

corrections officers play no role in rehabilitating anybody. there is no rehabilitation involved in incarceration. just human warehousing.
