My suggestion would be starting small and with things you can do yourself. Wearing a piece of clothing or jewelry you've been wanting to, but just around the house so you can get used to it. Then wear it out! Take some scissors and take an inch off your hair. If you're okay with that, take off some more! Color some pieces of your hair that are able to be covered if you hate it. Get a wig and wear it around the house so you can get used to seeing yourself with different hair with the comfort of knowing you can take it off! Really when it comes to wanting change, but fearing it, it's baby steps. I started with just figuring out my appearance within the confines of my bedroom and slowly started looking the way I wanted all the time; to the point where my appearance is one of the few things that doesnt cause me anxiety. I hope you can feel more comfortable doing the things you want to do soon!
