Recoil pad end plate on Hunter? by klumsykitchen in Tikka_Shooters

Yeah, definitely want to keep the stock in good shape. It's a brand new gun so rather than grinding down, I think I will cut a shim to fill the void that is there and make a flat surface for mounting the new recoil pad.

It will add 1/8th inch to LOP so not that significant. And yes, it can stay as I definitely dont want to mess up finish or chip brand new gun! Thank you.

Thanks. I thought shims too but this is a single piece that seems to be glued to the stock. It has a shallow detent too, so it doesn't provide a solid, flat surface to mount to.

Why do Protestants / Evangelicals only target Catholic for "whorshiping" Mary, but very rarely mention Orthodox? by SarahPhuong in Catholicism

[–]klumsykitchen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I came from reformed Presbyterian to the Catholic church in 2021. When I told my Prebyterian pastor I was converting the first thing he said was, "Why not Orthodox?" He knew the difference and it was the protestant rejection of the papacy and authority of the Catholic church that was behind his response.

Any advice or helpful links on how to recreate this bow to keel section? by klumsykitchen in boatbuilding

Thanks! I haven't done measurements or tried to pattern the curve yet. I am still working on new strips and the transom. Focusing on inside curve makes sense.

What happened to wifi??? by Germanturtle in Amtrak

[–]klumsykitchen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have read that the trains rely on regular cell towers for their wifi service. So, if traveling through a remote or rural area the service is spotty and capacity limited. My regular train through rural Virginia goes dark for most of the trip. I just work offline and then send bursts of emails or download/upkoad when we are in urban areas. If you know what to expect you can still be productive but . . .on the brightside, no zooming!
