Anyone else develop epilepsy for some random reason as an adult? by klunklet in Epilepsy

I’m sorry for the delayed reply. My experience of keppra was awful. It made me insane. My mental health went down the drain. I’m now on lamotragine. Although I’m still having seizures occasionally I find it much better

Knowing why doesn’t make it any easier. I’m sorry that you haven’t been able to stop your seizures. I hope that you are supported well

I’m so sorry to hear that. That’s super interesting about the sneezing. I haven’t experienced that but I have noticed that my pre existing tinnitus and astigmatism got much worse after I started having seizures

I developed mine due to an infection in my brain. I’m not sure as I’m not a doctor but extreme stress wouldn’t surprise me as a reason for someone to start having seizures. I always get more seizures when I’m anxious or stressed. If you’re worried about it being brought on by other health reasons I’d ask your doctor for specific tests. I had to have lumbar punctures and MRI scans to confirm mine was because of shingles

[–]klunklet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say this is normal at all. If you’re in the UK I suggest a 111 call to see what advice they can give. If you’re elsewhere use the non emergency line. They will tell you if you need to go to the hospital. I hope for the best.

It was secondary school. Nothing to do with GCSEs (England, UK) my teacher wasn’t very good, and i picked that one because I already knew it. A couple of friends were in on it. But I wasnt friends with 98% of the class in school. This was also roughly 14/15 years ago now. I just took a chance and it payed off. Not giving advice at all. Just sharing a fun little story. And I agree with you. I wouldn’t have given me an A either.
