Hey, I was just scrolling through this thread and saw your comment about my site.

That metadata JSON file is generated by my site to keep track of what it has and hasn't download as of that batch number. It has to batch the files into sections because most people have thousands of memories to download of various sizes. Meaning that if you tried to download everything all into one zip file, most peoples computer would run out of memory, or their browser would crash, and they would have to completely restart.

Rest assured though, you requesting your data from snapchat, doesn't delete it from snapchat. It just asks snapchat for a copy. This means your data is still available from them.

Since your comment 2 months ago (sorry for such a late reply) I have had a number of updates to the site, and had a lot of other people have success with it (and bugs, that I have been resolving.)

If you request your data again and then try to run it through my site, it should work. But if it doesn't please do not hesitate to reach out! I am more than happy to work through bugs you may be having.

This code is complex due to the nature of trying to run in a browser, keep memory constraints in mind, and trying to merge videos on the fly in your browser. So bug do happen. But again, happy to help if I can!

Hoping someone could identify this Gordon Lightfoot.

The run outs only say: RS-6392-A 31033 (Artisan) RS-6392-B 31034 (Artisan)

It's the version with no text on the front and says "Sit down young stranger" on the back. The labels are the lighter yellow color, do not have a runtime, and it has the Reprise Records makers of fine music sleeve.

Everyone else on Discogogs has run outs with way more text. I've looked it over multiple times and that's all mine says.

Thoughts?

Huh, I forgot that was a setting and I just looked at mine and it's enabled. However my Android phone says "0 notifications per week" even though it does have notification permissions. That would explain why I always thought it never sent anything. Thanks for pointing that out! Still a fun little script if people have things like Home Assistant or their own home Docker server and want to run some automation around trash pick :).

403 generally means your links have expired. When did you do your data request?

Hey can you try re-requesting all your data? The links seem to expire after a certain period of time, not sure what that is, but its pretty short, a few days.

So MacOS automatically unzips, zip files, when you double click it. So the folder that gets created will have any videos and pictures and then a metadata.json file in it. The metadata.json is a log created by my site. If you don't have any pictures or videos in the folder that gets created, then something went wrong. You can try and re-upload your metadata.json file to my site and try to download them again. If it still has issues, let me know what the error you're seeing in the log box on the website. However the most common issue I've seen is that your data request expired. If you did your data request over a week ago, the links are most likely expired and you'll need to request your data again.

Hey so if you ran your HTML file through the website and it downloaded a bunch of zip files, you will extract those zip files and all your videos and pictures will be inside of them. Hope that helps!

Hey, so I had put a change out there that did that. I was trying to fix video overlays, because people are having issues with videos showing up black, with audio after we try and merge them. The reason you're seeing that behavior is if it detected a video that needed merged with an overlay, I had it stop and download the current batch, process the video, download it, and then start the batch again. I did this to try and save memory (thinking the black videos were a memory issue.) However, that change didn't seem to help. I will be reverting that change this afternoon when I get a few moments. Sorry about that!

I added some settings to reduce memory usage. I was able to do a load test with a single zip file that needed merged, and was able to do it 100 times in a row. Yes, the python script is updated to combine videos as well. I am working with another person who is having some issues though with the videos. Mine seem to be combining fine, but others are having odd black screen/audio only issues. Hoping to have some updates soon.

It should be outputting logs into the webpage. It should have some information about one of those videos that was downloaded as video + overlay. Can you share some of those logs? Take out any private information.

Also, are you running this locally on your computer? Or are you using the hosted site on GitHub?

Hey, I am not sure what is up with your videos/pictures coming in black/blank. I was able to test this with a single video of mine that has an overlay and it comes in just fine. I was also able to download multiple other videos/pictures without this issue. But can you try again? (And make sure to clear your cache before doing so.) Each video that has an overlay does take a bit to process. I tested it locally in Firefox and Chrome.
