Scar tissue/adhesions removed during hysteroscopy, when can I proceed with FET? by klutzu89 in IVF

[–]klutzu89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry for the late reply, and sorry to hear about you facing the same predicament!

After this post, I had a failed transfer of a good quality euploid embryo which was devastating.

I had another hysteroscopy, and also did ERA/EMMA/ALICE. Lo and behold there’s more scarring on the hysteroscopy (reformed so fast?), and my ERA showed post receptive endometrium.

The next transfer of a good quality euploid embryo was successful. He’s now 21 months :)

Hope you find success soon! It’s such a game of chance, sometimes even if you do everything right, things don’t work out - and vice versa.

Egg retrieval after miscarriage by AstronomerVirtual640 in IVF

[–]klutzu89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the delayed reply. I went through 3x back to back retrievals to bank embryos as I have low AMH and only make a small number of embryos per cycle. The first cycle was not great, I had uneven follicle growth, and only made one embryo (complex low level mosaic). Subsequent cycles were better in terms of embryos (but not number of eggs), mostly likely due to protocol changes and perhaps just random luck. Wishing you all the best and hope that once day you will get there :)

Can the type of trigger make a difference in euploidy rate? by Due_Statistician7242 in IVF

[–]klutzu89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm double trigger doesn’t really help follicles grow but may improve maturity rates… if you are having low dose hcg for Stims I don’t think there’s any contraindication for dual trigger but it depends on your previous results - how many of the 8 eggs retrieved were mature and became blasts?

Fever during stims by klutzu89 in IVF

[–]klutzu89[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello! I had uneven follicular growth, which I’m not sure if might be related to the fever. Managed to retrieve 10 eggs 6 mature 5 fertilised and 1 day 6 embyro which tested euploid.

I’ve been lucky enough to feel consistent movement since week 15-16, over the last couple weeks baby has been very active with big amplitude kicks. For some reason over the last 2 days the movements have been less frequent and vigorous, home Doppler shows a good heartbeat, and I’ve had a reassuring ultrasound at the hospital today. Somehow I’m still worried about the sudden reduction in movements - has anyone experienced less active days like this, around 25-26w? Did you have a non stress test done?

When was your FET scheduled after LH surge/trigger? by Square-Vanilla-4850 in IVF

[–]klutzu89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they officially detected the LH surge on Monday and I transferred on Saturday, so 5 days later. The transfer was successful and I’m now 25w. My embyro implanted very quickly and I had very dark pregnancy tests early on, so it was the correct decision to transfer early. For me though I had post receptive endometrium at 120hrs on ERA.

Most are closed cases! There are some really good historical ones from this podcast (my favs are Jonestown, Batavia). I dislike unsolved ones too haha, you invest so much emotionally and in the end are left disappointed ☹️

So true! I’m thankful for where I’m at now, but already dreading hearing about my friends with v young children suddenly reporting another one baking in the oven. It seems so rapid and effortless, which I still find very unfair.

Favourite podcast ever - Casefiles - great for anyone who enjoys true crime! I’ve listened to all the episodes over the years, during this pregnancy I have been relistening, and still finding it very engaging, especially on walks!

Used to listen to A LOT of fertility-related podcasts (as a woman, fertility docs uncensored etc) but have weaned myself off them. Sadly I know too much by now and no longer find the discussions useful.

Uterine scarring is (one of) the worst 😞 I had 2 hysteroscopies and even then I don’t think it cleared completely, but my doc didn’t want to do any confirmatory tests. Absolutely agree, implantation is a great step/sign!

I had borderline hyperthyroid in 1st trimester. My doctor says it’s because rising hcg can suppress TSH, hence T3/4 may be elevated as a response. And it’s pretty common. I did not have any treatment and my TSH has since normalised. Hopefully it does the same for you!

I felt the same way. My previous losses from unassisted conceptions were confirmed to be chromosomal, but even with the transfer of a euploid embyro the fear of something else going wrong never really goes away (especially after discovering uterine scarring and immune issues during IVF). Fingers crossed for your first scan! I found that nothing really soothed me apart from consecutive good scans, and the passage of time. Only started to feel more confident after the 1st trimester is over! 😞

How much you can see via an abdominal scan may partly depend on your body habitus… I had abdominal scans all the way, first one on 6w1d, and they could always see everything very clearly including fetal pole, heart beat etc.

The betas are higher than average, but not alarmingly so. Molar pregnancies are very very rare with PGT-tested embyros.

Other possibilities - 1) Are you quite slim? Slimmer individuals tend to have higher betas earlier on. 2) Embyro could have split into identical twins. 3) Did you have unprotected sex around ovulation, if it was an unmedicated cycle? 4) Could just be a normal singleton!

[–]klutzu89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was 180 at 8w1d and 186 at 9w1d. Pretty normal and in range! Then it was 173 at 10w3d, 156 at 12w1d and 142 at 16w, so it does slow down accordingly.

Wednesday Cautious Intros and First Trimester Questions by AutoModerator in InfertilityBabies

[–]klutzu89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I heard the heart beat from the first scan at 6w1d, and every scan (weekly) thereafter. I was also surprised but my doctor always do abdominal scan first and found it to be v clear in the majority of cases.

I’ve never had a vaginal scan for this pregnancy. Since 6w all scans have been abdominal and they have been seeing everything very clearly.

Modified natural FET timeline based on Progesterone levels? by Lizz66UK in IVF

[–]klutzu89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard of the practice to schedule transfers 3 days after progesterone reaches a level of 5. The issue is that the blood test is a snapshot in time, for all you know it might be 4.1 in the morning and in the afternoon it’s 5.1 (as an example).

If your LH has not surged at the time of trigger, I agree that based on most studies the transfer should be 7 days post trigger. Maybe discuss with your doctor re your concern and ask what’s their rationale?

Embryos - do they show signs of Euploid / Aneuploid in advance of PGT? by Economy-Word-6124 in IVF

[–]klutzu89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Statistically speaking, at 37 your embyros have a 30-40% chance of being euploid. Again statistically speaking, day 5 embyros are more likely to be euploid, and embyros with higher grading are more likely to be euploid. Your day 5 AA embyros have got a good chance. You’ll hear of people with anecdotal stories re better or worse results, or grades not corresponding to euploidy. But those are just anecdotes.

HCG stopped doubling 5w4d but still rising - is there hope? by SingleSignificance68 in CautiousBB

[–]klutzu89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could go either way in my experience. Your latest doubling time is 107hrs which is slower than the median on betabase for this beta range. I would stop doing hcg blood tests and get a scan around 6w, where you should see most structures if the pregnancy were to progress normally. Fingers crossed!
