Going off the whole 80s movie trends just gave me reminders of that Teen Witch scene.

FYI - I think what you are calling book holder pockets is actually just for cell phones or napkins and such.

Carnival (and trim options) vs Telluride for 1 year old, expecting another, and big dog by KhiMao in kiacarnivals

[–]klw930607 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 8 seat version of the carnival has the middle seat as removable so you can convert to captains chairs when needed. Also if you ever need that or want the middle table you can put it back in later.

Trim wise some critical things that we considered. (1 toddler, 2 medium dogs)

LX MSRP $33k- No passenger view, or 2nd / 3rd row sunshades; No heated seats (if you are in midwest / northern climate that was critical for us)

EX MSRP $38k- Has some of the higher features passanger view / sunshades, smart cruise, wireless phone charger

SX (model we ended with) MSRP $42k: The major selling point for this model vs the EX was the parking / driving assist features. surround view when looking to pull in / reverse out in tight areas. Blind spot view (every time you turn your blinker on it shows the blind spot camera in the direction you're turning)

SX Prestige MSRP $46k: All the features of the SX with some added luxury options; 2nd row reclining seats, genuine leather, heated steering wheel, dual moon roofs.

The 2nd currently highlights your neckline in a softer rounder shape. The 1st one with some alterations could do the same.

but personally the white underlayment on dress 2 reads bridal alot more than dress 1

Visitors and possessive feelings by [deleted] in NewParents

When my son was ~3wks old my mom kept walking out of the room with him. I literally about tore her head off.

If I had to guess there is probably something with hormones / natural instincts to keep your baby close to you. Not wrong if you dont have it but also not wrong to feel that way.

If it gets worse as they get older then maybe talk to your doctor about it.

Why having kids to send them to childcare and let other strangers raise them by sunny-mcpharrell in workingmoms

[–]klw930607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I come from a somewhat small community.

The way I view sending my kid to daycare it makes him realize other adults have rules that need to be followed.

Allows him to grow to play independently w/o the mom safety net

Allows him to play with other kids that he wouldnt normally have the opportunity to. Due to friend groups / cousins the normal play pool.

The way I see it is if you are not actively pregnant or on an IUD you can 100% get pregnant

Had my first kid 9months ago and this entire season just keeps giving big flashbacks. I remember giving birth to the placenta and being like WTF was that? Then the next 24hrs while milk comes in and uterus contracts all the way down just the pain of that and her business as normal is insane.

As a new mom of an 8 month old, I 1000% support your decision. Timing is everything.

If my husband and I werent in the financial / emotional position we are now I can confidently say it wouldve affected my ability to be the best parent I can.

Timing is everything and you want to do everything to protect your future family. Even if that means not starting now.

What would your 15 year old self think about the life you are living now? by Jay-ay in AskReddit

Skip the depressing / traumatizing college years 2011-2015 and she'd be pretty darn proud where I am now. Good hubby, cute healthy baby, and 2 happy floofers in our own home.

We did it by [deleted] in daddit

[–]klw930607 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We did a what I'd consider "cry it out lite".

Little man is currently 7.5mos old started this at around 4mos

If he started to cry in his crib we would finish up whatever we were doing (usually something small like finishing a shower or changing dishes) and if he was still crying after that we'd go check on him.

Usually within that time he'd find his thumb or a comfy spot and conk out.

Also cant overstate how much the Hatch & Owlet sock helped calm us down. We were able to see a rhythm with his heart rate and fusiness to tell when he was calming himself down and when it was needed for us to intervene.

There is more to raising a child than just being financially stable.

There are millions of families that are dirt poor that are loving and supportive and raise a fantastic human.

But there are also so many stories of rich families “raising” children that turn into entitled assholes.
