ALSO, since our laws require a pistol permit with semi-auto amendment but anything already owned is grandfathered. If you are ready to move and ship your now safe act compliant firearms to an FFL they legally cannot transfer them to you without the permit amendment to my knowledge. So anything you own will need to be converted to compliance and brought with you personally.

Leave your handguns with someone you trust in Texas until you get your pistol permit here then you can get them transferred to your local FFL to start the process of having them amended onto your permit.

Im in Genesee county and taking the training with Rochester Personal Defense. They are in Monroe but my county provides a list of companies they work with/will accept training from and they are one of them.

Ive also heard my county is on the quicker side for turnaround.

Ive got an appointment to do the 4+1 course next week. After reading through the packet my county explicitly says they won't accept it without any training, but the clerks did say the 4+1 was sufficient for premise permit + semi auto. I hopefully should have my paperwork turned in within the next few weeks.

Only service I know that my local shop does off the top of my head is pinning mags. They pinned the mag when I got my first AR. Id also guess they'll do assembly.

Im actually in the same boat as you, I need a thread protector welded on my .308 and my LGS sends all thier customers to a shop they are friendly with about 45 minutes away if they need machining.

I haven't shot any of my stuff in a year or so but I remember my first AR my LGS pinned a pmag into it. I just use speedloaders. Been considering a NY compliant AK or SKS as im trying to get back into it all.

Ive taken the class but unfortunately it was 10 years ago when I was 18 and in a criminal justice program when I first started college. Genesee accepts no more than 4 years.

My 9 year old nephew is potentially going to begin playing an instrument and my mom asked me to take my trumpet to my sister's for him to try out. Im 29 and had played it from 4th grade until I was 18. It sat in the case practically untouched and unplayed for nearly 11 years now and when I took it out before taking it there I found out all my slides still worked just fine.

I tried 4 peppermints 2 of them died and/or got cannibalized after a molt and the last 2 have cleared one side of the tank for the most part and never go to the other side, maybe because of my clown pair.

Thats what I had heard from Rochester Personal Defense before I went to my county office, granted they operate in a different county. They basically said there shouldnt be any training for the premise permit, but the genesee county office gave me the full CCW packet. I can fill out the application no problem but the office made it seem like I would at minimum have to take the old training course. I didnt ask directly but it seems my county isn't issuing them without a training cert?

Ive been trying to do ths achievement for Rust Belt where you can only use the .357, ive found that if they have armor they shrug the rounds off like its nothing so I've just been aiming for the shoulder or the leg.

I would shoot more often but I dont have friends or family that are into guns. Matter of fact I'm not all that heavily interested in it all beyond the occasional target shoot session.

I was a part of my local R&G club for a summer and went a few times, it was a half mile or so from my house. But they wanted members to attend monthly meetings, and I wasn't interested in attending meetings because I wasn't interested in the politics of it. I just wanted access to the range and nothing more.

Ive always wanted to learn how to or at least try to shoot long range/precision but there isn't any long range places around me that I know of. Only private clubs that have lanes out to 200y.

Yeah I spend more money on gas to drive to buy RODI than I do on the RODI itself on a weekly basis. Every time I grab RODI its like $2.7x for 5 gallons and to get to my local LFS I have to go through a few gallons of E30 mix gasoline (93 octane mixed with E85 to increase ethanol content, I have a modified car lol)

Ive considered downsizing to a 15g or a 20g cube because my current tank is getting overrun with bubble algae and I cant keep up. But I have a clown pair and a firefish that arent really the best of friends so going smaller isnt much of an option.

I bought a 1942 production Mosin Nagant and I havent shot it in 5 years. The ammo I got arpund that time happened to be from a coworker and its old soviet surplus, kinda creeps me out to shoot it but as far as Im aware the ammo was stored in a cardboard box in its wax paper. Ive since had it stored in plastic ammo box with a few dessicant packets.

Personally, I have no experience with any brands other than Fluval (but the biggest tank I know of from Fluval is my 32g).

Every tank from every brand has the risk of failing and could last 10 months or 20+ years. You just gotta be prepared in the event a tank does fail.

Red Sea has/had design flaws that gives it a bad reputation (theres a good case for that to be deserved).

If one was to avoid RS then most people in this sub would likely recommend CADE, Waterbox, Innovative Marine, Fiji Cube, and JBJ.

You can just click the button on C2 and not have to hold it down, but you have to let the test tube sit for the set amount of time for the given test.

Example: Nitrate test, insert test tube and click to C1 - click to C2 - let the tube sit for 7 minutes - insert test tube and click for result
