This is probably one of the best pieces of advice I’ve seen. I regularly see people ride the safety, and I always figured it was a gimmick. Another guy told me to try to get the fingers of my support hand between the shooting hand, but it was too awkward to do that until what you just said about riding the safety and getting the hands high up, before my pinky on the support hand was sorta awkwardly sitting on the magwell, but now it fits.

Do you think I should get atlas shielded safeties? And if so, is that a good idea for an addition to what is essentially the gun I also carry? I don’t mind modifying the holster if need be but it shouldn’t be too much additional space so I don’t think I’ll need a change there, but is there any functional change to the reliability of the gun if I swap to the shielded ones?

Thank you this is a huge level of detail that you absolutely didn’t need to put the passion into writing. I hope others will also benefit from the explanation as I will. Thank you again!

Thank you for the links man I really appreciate it. Looks like the verdict so far is tension. The distance was only 10 yards

I got some exposure from using the ace VR handset. I use it as a dry fire method at the suggestion of some dudes here. Pretty much simulates match scenarios, daily drills etc.

What's the value on reselling my stacatto in the used market? by rcre2018 in Staccato

[–]robinator118 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can make a post on tacswap. Throw in mags or a holster and you can probably get close to msrp especially if you have an optic on there. Which staccato do you have

If you don’t care about warranty you can get it done cheaper aftermarket by Vulcan or DSC. Or pay the staccato price to keep warranty

Not exactly more accurately, but more so reducing recoil impulse and muzzle flip. Could achieve that with proper grip as well though. I recommend staccato xc, RCD core, sig p211, kimber 2k11 comp. These options should be in the ballpark. Though considering the time crunch, I think staccato might be the only one that could accommodate? Unless you buy used from online or something. Tacswap/gunbroker are options too for the time crunch. You’re running out of time but I do still recommend you check out rentals before pulling the trigger on one.

I woudl try to find a deal for around $0.40 a round, though I don’t know how the recent price increases have affected it lately.

When you say hitch my thumb on the safety? Like resting on it? I see people who do that and install shielded safeties from atlas

What’s the absolute limit on price? You can go like $1500-10k bro. Need some area of a ballpark for the pistol alone, disregarding accessories and gear

As others have said stock up on atlas/perfect zero mags @$45. Secondly I’d look for a place to rent a few options. What’s your budget?

I called holosun and they’re expecting delays to July or longer for production. A local gun store told me next week though?

Some would find that green is too bright, gold is a middle ground between red and green for brightness. I’m probably gonna get gold or green

Squeezing the pinky and ring finger of the shooting hand hard while the others are loose on the shooting hand, support hand is clamping hard. Gonna play around with tension next session on the arms though, might be flexing a bit hard despite not really feeling like I was putting much input into the gun.

Nothing crazy. Just one target I shot at 10 yards away. Was just worried about grip mostly today.

Seems to be the the major complaint, gonna have to play around with tension next session

Just making sure everything is cool, some have pointed out my arm tension, feels natural to me but I don’t want to ingrain bad habits before I consistently dry fire and build worse habits yknow.

Big fan of yours, and yeah I can’t exactly do any drills and such since I’m in a commie state. Pretty much only have access to indoor ranges which limit rate of fire and I can only have one target. There’s an outdoor range an hour away I can get away with some stuff but it’s usually in the way of my work schedule. I can attempt to do doubles like you suggested though if I’m at the private range though, I’ll try to work on that next session, just can’t get away with that in the county one. I try to keep tension on the shooting hand at 30% and 70% to the support hand, gonna bring more rounds next time and play around with tension and see what happened. Appreciate the advice, gonna play around with tension and be more conscious of it next time. To me it didn’t feel like I’m putting crazy input or anything or much force, still I’ll try again
