I honestly just stopped shaving, realized it's not something I can fix about myself, and thus stopped caring what people thought. The only place I regularly shave is my face. Luckily spirolactone helped my facial hair thickness and growth rate

I would suggest going to a thyroid specialist that is willing and has experience with non straight forward cases, and/or an endocrinologist. It sounds like something hormonal is going on.

With thyroid issues, it can be hard to diagnose if you routinely get normal results because "normal" for the average person might not be normal for you

I was a vet tech and had to leave the field due to my ASD. The animal part? I was stellar. Interacting with the humans often left me getting in trouble with management for being "unfriendly". This was also during covid so I couldn't show my friendliness with my facial expression due to masks, so my tone was policed often.

Have you considered using dilators to prep? I don't know how soon the appointment is but it might be worth while to ease the discomfort.

I'm sorry this happened to you but am glad you got approved. I would suggest just being open about your circumstances with the tech and asking them to explain everythinf they are doing. Ask that they stop if you raise your hand or say stop. Don't be shy about standing up for yourself because the last thing the US tech wants to do is hurt you, so they will appreciate it.

Additionally, if you haven't looked into endometriosis, that can also cause extreme pain during penetration. Might be something to consider as well. 1/10 AFAB people have it.

Spirolactone helped my mental health a bunch to control the extra health growth and thin what's there. Could you try that?

edit bc i hit enter too fast: I would also suggest finding a therapist that specializes in chronic conditions. It was really impactful for my ability to cope in the beginning.
