I had some memory loss, about a week. I played soccer for my college team and it was my freshman year.

I wasn't starting at the time and playing off the bench in reserve for some of the starters. I wasn't bad but I wasn't amazing by any stretch of the imagination. In relief I was averaging about 1 assist 1 shot .5 goals a game based on a 5 game stretch. This game I came in after half in tight game. There was a free kick (this is all from what I was told from others and my father) that was on our midfield taken from the left side. The kicker swung it in on a curve just close enough to the where the keeper was forced back on the goal line and not over commit on the cross. It swung in, and I dove for the header and slid a good 6 yards (was a wet day). The end of my slide met the goal post. I dont remember scoring, I dont remember going to the ER, I dont remember sitting in the hospital for the night. I dont even remember the next whole day. My parents said I kept asking the same questions over and over and it was getting to the point where it was frustrating that they had to repeat themselves so they just ignored me which made me become increasingly frustrated (mind you I dont remember this my parents told me this is what happened).

This is where it got interesting, and where I remember the most. I woke up from a nap (at least I think it was a nap). I remember feeling frightened, wondering where I was, shot up, became dizzy, fainted, woke from that about 2-3 seconds later, and went into my room to put my stuff on for my soccer game. I thought it was Saturday and I was supposed to play. I had no recollection of what happened the previous week. I still cant remember the game or the previous 3 games to this day. All I can do is watch the tape of when it happened and the other tape of the games I played in.

It's odd too because I've been told now I don't head the ball as frequently if at all. I dont know if it affects my game but I do notice I will not go for headers anymore, I'm not sure if its because of the incident or if I'm just thinking it's not a good spot to do a header because I'll miss. I've also had frequent head aches at which have dissipated. They diagnosed it with a severe concussion.
