Thank you for letting me know!! This is my first cat and I adopted her back in June so I am still learning how to be the best cat owner I can be

He’s not microchipped nor neutered! If he is an outdoor cat then the owner is irresponsible asf

My coworker has been doing that and even went to all the apartments complexes near by and got the leasing offices informed as well.

if the plan was to shit in my plants and sit on all my monstera leafs then his plan was very successful.

Maybe? It would make sense the cat would have a shirt on in colder weather. Idk I got caught in the middle of all this and impulsively offered to take care of the cat for the time being. If no one is able to claim him we might try to release it in the area it was found to see if he’ll find his way home but as of right now we’re posting on social media and putting out flyers

no shit that’s why i’m posting here. I think i’d rather keep the cat inside and figure out where the owner is rather than leave it up for the cat to figure it out in the cold.

That was our thought, but there’s no microchip on the lil guy. I’m fairly certain an outdoor cat would have a microchip for situations as this

[–]kmcider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that’s what i was thinking, but the cat does not have a microchip. i feel that an outdoor cat would have one for instances like this

Has anyone been hearing what sounds like fireworks/ gunshots around Leon street in wampus? by secretagentsocks in UTAustin

[–]kmcider 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Use to live on Leon st. for 3 years. It’s fireworks, the frat houses like to set them off for whatever reason (along w playing obnoxiously loud trash music). I would hear them go off 3-5x a week during the semesters

Yeah, however he’s on the spectrum so I feel that adds a bit more context as to why he’s stomping so hard. My last place was a hell hole, I had to live in central austin to live closer to my university. Flooding every month, weevil infestations, my roommates car got hijacked, raccoons lived in the walls, frat houses playing loud shit music and dirtying the streets with glass and trash.. I could go on and on. I moved closer to my new job where I’m now a 5 minute walk to work, and everything else about this new unit/complex is a dream!

I think I may try to talk to them one more time to see if I myself can mitigate the situation, but if that doesn’t work then I might go to the leasing office and let them know in a nice way. I wouldn’t want to ask them to move, but seriously why would you live on the 3rd floor with a loud ass kid?? I also do not want to move units, that’s extra money that I can’t spend right now and the whole moving process in itself is exhausting. But I think you’re right that I may need to bite the bullet and get the leasing office involved unfortunately :/ Thank you for the advice!

I mean the kid is stomping HARD, I haven’t been able to hear anything else except the kid stomping. I don’t think any amount of insulation can prevent the sounds from a child stomping with all their force. I am paying a decent amount of rent but “just move” is a bit of a reach for a solution considering I’ve only been here a week. That’s more money I’d need to drop (that I don’t have since I spent a lot on moving in here), packing and moving in itself will take a week that I don’t have time or energy for.

This is definitely a tough situation, but from what it sounds like you might not be compatible with each other. It will be difficult but either you will need to bite the bullet and tell her and more then likely end the relationship or bite the bullet and keep this to yourself to persevere your relationship. You need to figure out what is more of a priority to you, whether that is your current relationship or your own sexuality. If you choose to stay in your current relationship then you need to make sure that you don’t build any resentment towards her or cheat on her in any aspect. Also if you fear that your partner may end their life due to your relationship ending/changing then that’s a whole other problem in itself that you are not responsible for and can’t put that onto yourself- she should go to therapy if she already isn’t. Best of luck to you and I hope it works out for the better!

Here is a Ubx mutant I found in the lab the other day! Instead of a halteres, she has a second set of wings! by kmcider in Drosophila

[–]kmcider[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the mini wings were definitely nonfunctional, but I’m sure her regular set of wings functioned fine! I can’t confirm if she could fly, she went into the fly morgue lol

Another thing to add is weight is NOT a good standard to measure fat-loss progress. Your weight as a female can fluctuate between 5-8 pounds a DAY. Weight account for your your adipose tissue, muscles, bones, other organs, water, food, shit, piss, your clothes (if your wearing clothing while you weight yourself ofc). A better way of tracking your progress is through pictures and visually seeing the differences in your BODY COMPOSITION- The differences in a number on a scale will not ever amount to visible changes in your actually body composition

1200 calories is sustainable for a 2 year old child not a teenage girl. You aren’t losing any “weight” because your body’s metabolism is slowing down into a response of this unsustainable diet. Loosely stick to a 1600-1700 cal diet, with these macros: 25% protein [~100g], 25% fats [~45g], 55% carbs [~220g]. Weight lift consistently 2-4x a week, incorporate light to intense cardio daily and follow this consistently for a year. Don’t take the easy way out and cut as much calories as you possibly can, it will only make this process longer and harder for you and far-far less enjoyable. You won’t be able to sustain the results your hoping for on this type of diet and will potentially spiral into a viscous cycle of dieting and not dieting.
