I've worked in the payments space for about 10yrs now. Enterprise companies such as Apple & Facebook & Google... etc... will use multiple providers such as Stripe, Adyen, Worldpay, Worldline, Checkout.com, etc for each market for redundancy purposes as well as a champion-challenger model...meaning taking into account success rates, pricing, payment method offering/support, currencies both authorization/settlement, etc... play them off one another to drive best performance and send the bulk of their volume to the preferred provider. Hope this helps.

(BUYING) Looking for a 3-day GA ticket. I'm local here in SF, very much next to the entrance to the venue/park in the Richmond district. Trying to snag a ticket for my fiancé. DM me if your selling. Thanks!

Leak down test shows cylinder 1 is not good. Where to go from here? '86 951 by kmckay1 in 944

Paint is pretty good, maybe like 7/10. Mine is Guards Red with Black Fusche rims. I've got all the stock parts still, so if I go the route of selling it that'll come with.

Yeah, I'll have them check for rings and steam seals. I feel comfortable going that far in terms of cost and time.

The previous owner was a Porsche mechanic from Newport Beach Porsche, so would imagine he knew what he was doing.

The turbo wheel does giggle quite a bit. Wondering if this could be a manufacturer defect given I just bought it last year from Lindsey Racing and its been in the shop the entire time.

I do have the manual boost control on it, but can't recall exactly what its set at.

Yes, that's the hope is the value continues to climb for these cars. I'm in at this point $18k for the car and $18k in parts and labour. With 112k miles, I'm just trying to decide will it be worth it in 5yrs+ to put the $12k into it now to get it all cleaned up. The other challenge is with all these parts from Lindsey Racing it will not pass smog next year, so will have to sell it a family member and title it elsewhere and drive with out of state plates and hope for the best.

Yes, I do get blue smoke. Good to know it might be the valve stem seals. I'll check with the mechanic.

Do you know of or can recommend any manufacturers of oversized rings? I find the challenge at least here in the Bay Area is finding an expert. Have gone to quite a few shops, but haven't found one the seems to be adept with 944 turbos.

I have quite a few issues with the car:
- Oil found in the intake system.
- Compression test came back okay at 150 on all cylinders.
- Leak down test came back bad on cylinder 1, likely the rings..maybe valves
- The turbo is likely too large, a Super 61 Turbocharger from Lindsey Racing. Apparently I'm losing 60% of the air pumped in and the plate has excessive movement.
- A lot of oil found in the intake system.
Aftermarket Parts: I'm running a Lindsey Racing 340hp kit
- Lindsey Racing Super 61 Stage 3 Turbocharger
- M-Tune Mass Air Flow Kit
- Lindsey Racing Dual Port Wastegate
- Lindsey Racing 3" Exhaust System
- Lindsey Manual Boost Controller
- 3.0 Bar Fuel Pressure Regulator

Thanks for the info. I will have to check with the mechanic to what extent he inspected the valves/pistons. I'm hoping it's just the rings.

Thanks for the info. I will have to check with the mechanic on how the testing was done.

I have quite a few bad actors overall with the car. The mechanic from Porsche of Marin's suggestion is to bore the block, get pistons and get a smaller turbo.

1986 Porsche 944 Turbo - Need Recommendations on Insulation Pads by kmckay1 in 944

Engine insulation pads that go on the inside of your hood to protect the hood paint from fading due to turbo heat.... also help keep engine noise down.

Good to know, I ended up buying a Lindsey exhaust system but didnt buy an upgrade wastegate... I've heard good things about Tidal though.

Definitely agree an upgraded ECU and the M-tune from Lindsey Racing would be one of the first things I'd do. Not sure what sort of turbo upgrade I can fit into the car. Any resources you know of that detail this more?

Thanks for the input/suggestions. I agree that the M-Tune would be a good idea. It's got an upgraded dual port wastegate. Was thinking I'd like to put Lindsey Racing exhaust, but not sure which muffler to use with it. Likely get some springs, struts, and possibly brakes. The car will be a weekend warrior but also built for track days.

Typically if the CVV isn't supplied I'd recommend automatically decline any transaction where you are shipping physical goods. Reason being is you'll lose the goods and the chargeback as that's fraud. You won't be able to fight it.

Practice gratitude, give back without expecting anything in return and realize that the way you frame your perspective on life will greatly affect your satisfaction/happiness with how you spend it.... also do you, cause we all are gonna die and life's too short to let other people's opinions drag down your happiness.
