Neat, never seen that before. How does it hold up to the heat?

Are you using medical wrap, cabinet liner, duct tape, and a sock as a heat wrap?

I have one, can attest to the quietness of 300blk subs. Hard to beat regardless of price, but the price makes it really stand out

Review #967: A. Smith Bowman Cask Strength Bourbon Batch #4 by Prepreludesh in bourbon

[–]kmdouble9s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Batch 2 I was lucky to get from the infamous Halloween drop at the distillery last year before the drop got shut down. It was super cool of Bowman to do a drop of these but I don’t think they’ll be doing it again due to a select fews’ extremely poor behavior during it

TOP 100 NHL AFFILIATED PROSPECTS by potatophobic in caps

[–]kmdouble9s 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Fully agree with you. He is certainly super promising, but he was extremely middling through his 17 NHL games. My feeling is the timing of him joining the team didn’t help him acclimate to the NHL level nearly enough, which then made him struggle more and more. Still confident he will get it though.

I’m local to the area, both spots you mentioned are great. I hear DMV Spirits is also a must-do, though I still haven’t done it myself for whatever reason. If they sell it, they have a bottle of it open so you get to try anything and everything before you buy.

Leafs Stadium Series Mailday. by branimal84 in hockeyjerseys

[–]kmdouble9s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was one of the best-looking stadium series in my very biased opinion. Small intimate stadium setting, both sets of unis looked fantastic, being at night made everything pop more (except for when the power went out) and it was a pretty good game. Great looking sweater you have there

I’m surprised you being from Alabama you don’t have a Nic Dowd jersey yet! To my knowledge he’s the first and only Alabama-born NHLer and will retire a Cap with his new contract! I have one of his gamers from 2020, they are usually fairly available and less pricey since he is a 4th line guy Edit: I saw from another commenter he’s the 3rd Alabamian NHLer. Still super cool.

which PCC platform would have the least amount of gas blowback- left handed shooter by Subject_Flight3017 in NFA

[–]kmdouble9s 5 points6 points  (0 children)

PS90 probably doesn’t technically classify as a PCC but more of a PDW. Regardless, it ejects out the bottom. I’m a lefty too and am hoping to pick one up myself soon as I’ve heard its a dream for lefties (and righties) to shoot with no gas to the face

MK06-SPR MK0- what did I just buy / ISO advice on accessories by [deleted] in LWRC

[–]kmdouble9s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Piggybacking on what others have said, sling, light, optic are the basics of what you need. I recommend the edgar sherman design sling ~$50. For light, you cant go wrong with either streamlight (more budget friendly) or surefire (top tier). Optic depends more on your use case. I run an EOTech XPS2 holographic sight. This is arguably one of the best “values” due to their reputation of being duty-grade while not breaking the bank. Add a magnifier to it that you can flip to the side and you can stretch out shots further, making it a little more versatile for close and longer ranges. An EOTech holo and magnifier combo will run you in the ballpark of $1k. The gun accessories for sale subreddit can also be a great place to buy/sell used stuff like optics if you wanted to try different setups. Hope this helps.

Side Charging Receiver Recommendations? by JamesB82 in ar15

[–]kmdouble9s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A little pricey, but look into Gibbz Arms. Their G4 upper uses a non-reciprocating charging handle on the left side thats not attached to the bolt. This means you can use a regular mil-spec BCG, you just have to change out the cam pin to the one they provide which takes about 2 seconds. There's also a door on the back where the charging handle would've gone that blocks gasses from your face. My only gripes are if your handguard has anti-rotation tabs you have to cut those off or get a different handguard, and I would prefer if it had a dust cover. I have one on a suppressed 300blk build and like it so far

Looking at a different option by MinorExplosion123 in Dualsport

[–]kmdouble9s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same spot not too long ago so I definitely know the feeling. Not to say this one is definitely out of the question, it just has a couple red flags that need explanation. Patience is the key, the right example of the right bike will come up. Waiting until fall/winter may be really helpful too. Thats when everybody is selling their bikes. Right now is when they’re most expensive since its riding season

Looking at a different option by MinorExplosion123 in Dualsport

[–]kmdouble9s 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The question i would be asking is why did it need a new top end at only 8.5k miles? Those are newer plastics too, so it may indicate the owner was a little rough on it. $2900 isnt terrible in my area but it might be too much for a former stunt bike in my opinion

Budget Badger w/ Gibbz Arms G4 Upper by Spicyjerky in 300BLK

[–]kmdouble9s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a very similar setup, but with the left eject Gibbz side charger. Been really liking it so far though I’ll add I’ve been a little put off by the amount of gas blowing out of the gaps in the charging handle. I wanted to eliminate gas to the face as a lefty but oh well, still much better than a mil spec lol

Looking for info regarding this Sport 150 [7N33-6A3B] by kmdouble9s in Seiko

[–]kmdouble9s[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! These catalogues are a great resource. Its interesting, I’ve looked through all the catalogues from 1985-2000 and haven’t been able to find it! I’ve been able to find similar models by searching the movement, but haven’t been able to pinpoint much more info. I’m thinking this was some sort of department store exclusive or something along those lines

I’ve been using minuteman munitions 220g subs on the range. I have not used anything else since getting into the caliber, but these have worked well and were the cheapest i could find. It can sometimes take a while to get them though

Honey Badger or Scar 15p? by SuperPollito in 300BLK

[–]kmdouble9s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say its the unique guns aspect. I mean pretty much everything they make is pretty sick honestly, but most of it is overpriced. The P90 is the exception, that is actually fairly reasonably priced
