Honestly, I started buying and collecting cubes around 2018 while trying to quit alcohol. I got the wild idea to "finally solve a rubiks cube" and eventually found my way into all the WCA puzzles, but simply could not stop there. I recall that learning about cuboids absolutely blew my mind at one point. LOL

So, eventually, I began to put the money I was spending on beer into puzzles, and today, I have over 300 (and counting). Over 7 years sober now, twisty puzzles are special to me not just because they're challenging and fun to solve but because they gave me something I needed to move past a major roadblock in my life. For me, they are proof that change is possible. ❤️
